And best of all, because Obama is a coward, controls will be in place for five years, gradually lifting over the next five, conveniently sticking the next two presidents with his poor decisions.
Rudy was (and is) right-
Fortunately, Obama has 1 and 1/2 years left of his presidency.
The next president will not be a Muslim and will not conduct policy to suit their needs.

The Manchurian Candidate has failed.
We have never had a Muslim President in this country.....not sure why you felt the need to say the next one wouldn't be either, though I haven't heard of any candidates wanting to run that were also Muslim.
It doesn't require a vote, it isn't a treaty. Presidents have made deals on their own for centuries. Maybe instead of banning AP US History, Republicans should actually sit through the class. Its unfortunately we have 47 fools of such incompetence in our highest elected body.
Iranian Foreign Minister Dr. Javad Zarif has schooled Republicans on the U.S. Constitution and international law. In response to reading the open letter, he said:
Quote:
"It seems that the authors not only do not understand international law, but are not fully cognizant of the nuances of their own Constitution when it comes to presidential powers in the conduct of foreign policy."
And
Quote:
"I wish to enlighten the authors that if the next administration revokes any agreement with ‘the stroke of a pen,’ as they boast, it will have simply committed a blatant violation of international law.â€
What was the point in sending a letter to Iran explaining the constitution, they should be unified in standing behind the administrations decision rather than 2nd guessing the negotiations.
It's a pointless letter...but a pointless letter that should have 48 idiots in federal custody for violating the Logan Act.
"Any citizen of the United States, wherever he may be, who, without authority of the United States, directly or indirectly commences or carries on any correspondence or intercourse with any foreign government or any officer or agent thereof, with intent to influence the measures or conduct of any foreign government or of any officer or agent thereof, in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States, or to defeat the measures of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both."

Reason: can't count
So breaking the Logan Act is cool when Republican's do it?
Nixon does it to undermine Johnson before an election and prolongs the Vietnam War.
Reagan does it and deals with the Iranians behind Carter's back.
And now Senate Republicans are doing it and will weaken the stance of moderates within the Iranian government giving the hardliners more reasons to actually build a nuclear arsenal.
And everybody's cool with this?
Do you know that Iran is the country that is actually battling fanatical Sunni Islamist trying to establish an empire? Iran isn't a good actor, but they are rational and they have fronted most of the battle against ISIS. This is while some of our supposed allies in the region are funding ISIS.
"I made it clear that I had no authority to negotiate on behalf of the United States — that I had come to listen and learn...."
We're actually overdue in our extension of an olive branch to Iran.
Plus we owe them an apology for the Mossadegh overthrow, installment of the Shah, and training of the SAVAK.
Ali Khamenei, when did you start posting on City Data? I know Odumda is going to give you nukes and yes, your going to wipe your neighboring countries off the map but there is no need to post about all that here. You already got what you wanted. A Muslim Terrorist sympathizer in the Whitehouse that is in the process of destroying the U.S.

Odumba? I was hoping your one redeemable quality would be humor. Sigh, another wasted act of creation.
If the GOP keeps up the good work they won't have to worry about 2017 either. These negotiations are incredibly sensitive and important, these congressmen not only insulted the president they also did the same to our allies like Germany and Great Britain. So they don't want any negotiations with Iran to take place, so what's there plan other than to help the Iranian right wing.

His whole response is a first class smack down that successfully paints the GOP as the idiots they are.
International law does not dictate the powers of the US President, the US Constitution does. The simple fact is he does have the authority to enter into a long term agreement on his own. /end story.
