The protests this time around have been quite a bit more subdued, as it is clear that this is going to pass. The Wisconsin Senate was the best hope to stop this measure, just like it was for the extremely effective and popular union reforms that were originally passed in Wisconsin amidst loud and very disruptive protests in 2011.

The Wisconsin Assembly is expected to pass this much needed reform easily. Governor Scott Walker has promised he will sign the legislation.

Well done, Governor Walker.

Wisconsin Senate approves right-to-work bill, sends to state Assembly

The Wisconsin senate narrowly approved a "right-to-work" bill on Wednesday that would bar private-sector employees who work under union-negotiated contracts from being required to join their unions or pay them dues.

The bill, which would make Wisconsin the 25th U.S. State with a right-to-work law on the books, cleared the Republican-led senate on a 17-15 vote following hours of debate marked by periodic angry shouts from opponents in the senate gallery.

Hmmm, 62% of Wisconsinites are in favor of this. Republicans produce bigger paychecks for working people, and potentially carve out more room for individual initiative to make a difference in pay.

Walker believes the blue collar workers in Wisconsin are getting paid too well. With this legislation workers in Wisconsin can expect Alabama and Mississippi-level benefits and wages. Walker believes if this passes Wisconsin can be as successful and prosperous as those two red states..

If that were the case... Unions would be huge and unstoppable after the law passes. Because everyone would want to be paid too well and they would choose to join.

But that isn't the case now that they are not forced to join.

When unions lose their monopoly on labor, membership PLUMMETS! Then union revenues plummet, then Democrats get less campaign contributions.

It isn't about the workers, it is about money for politicians.

If people wanted to be in a union, there wouldn't be laws needed to essentially force them to join.

Unions are a hold over from Marxism and the Progressive Era and the beginning of wealth redistribution, paid to the government.

In our glorious fight for civil rights, we must guard against being fooled by false slogans, such as ‘right to work.’ It is a law to rob us of our civil rights and job rights. Its purpose is to destroy labor unions and the freedom of collective bargaining by which unions have improved wages and working conditions of everyone…Wherever these laws have been passed, wages are lower, job opportunities are fewer and there are no civil rights. We do not intend to let them do this to us. We demand this fraud be stopped. Our weapon is our vote.

Unions have nothing to do with government.
