With so many parts of the 1986 Immigration Act not being enforced. It makes you wonder if many parts of the 1964 Civil Rights Act were not enforced, how upset the US population would be?

You would think the party not enforcing the act, would lose control of the legislature, to right the wrong.
Oh, wait.

Forget the ACT...
We need an Amendment, to settle this feel good crap, they never enforce.
Make it unconstitutional to enter this nation illegally.
Force the federal Government to act.

Neither party has been able to stop illegal immigration, and your comparison to the Civil Rights Act is fallacious. People care more about civil rights than illegal immigration.

As to post #2...what are you talking about? What kind of amendment?

I never knew public opinion was the mechanism used to determine if one enforces the law or not. Neither party has been able to stop discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. I think your argument is fallacious.

I am constantly stunned at the lack of logic and basic reasoning skills people have. People get so wrapped up in their political beliefs they loose any sort of objectivity while sacrificing their credibility and integrity.

If the newly elected President had a Problem with any part of the Civil Rights Act(Rand Paul) he would still have to enforce the part he doesn't like.
President Obama has set the precedence here in this very case as chief law enforcement officer.

Tell that to the OP:

...how upset the US population would be?

Indeed. Reading is fundamental. Then you can work on the reasoning.

Neither party has enforced immigration law, and Obama's EO was released after the mid-terms. Again, your argument is fallacious.

And the reason you see the conservatives gaining control in one of the two progressive parties.
Not since Calvin Coolidge, has the Conservatives gained so much in so little time.
Which just so happened after another Progressive trashed the Constitution with a supermajority.
