Taxing the "rich" does nothing to help the poor. Sure, you give them, say, $1000....and then what? The money is soon gone, and they're right back where they were. If you have no money, you need to figure a way to work that will give you the funds you need. Waiting for a handout is not working!

We need to make it easier for EVERYONE to produce, or work hard, or create something to get themselves ahead. Government cannot and should not take this on. It doesn't work. We have decades of proof!
Well then, keep paying your relatively high taxes and leave the tax breaks to the wealthy. How is it working out for you so far?

Politicians are whores. They sell themselves to the highest bidder. Because of the campaign laws that the idiot public supports, we allow the oligarchs to buy the politicians and to be their masters.

This is in direct contrast to what is good for both the country and the people, but the people are too stupid and lazy to take a stand, so things will continue to get worse until technology will make it impossible for the people to do anything about it.

Welcome to the new system of serfdom. We have come full circle.

That is not happening. The GOP knows this and is trying to scrub their reputation before the election.

The potential 2016 candidates are working to prove that Democrats aren't the only ones sensitive to the nation's growing economic inequality. The GOP is also trying to move past serious stumbles -- such as Mitt Romney's infamous 47% comment -- that created an impression among some middle class voters that the party is out of touch.

Then again it is Huff Post
Okay, I'll fix it. The state that raised taxes on the wealthy has a much better economy than the states with "right to work."

Better?

Why are people fighting against: raising wages, unions, pollution regulations, benefits for the poor, tax cuts for the middle class instead of the wealthy, and equal rights?

Can anyone explain this phenomenon?
I'm not Republican and you're right about them. Still, it's no different than how Democrats get the ignorant to vote for things that harm them. Abortion was introduced as a way to thin out minority's by Margaret Sanger and big oil/big banking. If there was no abortion, there'd be 40% more Black voters walking the streets right now and they could effect real change with their votes. Workforce activity was equal between Whites and Blacks until the Minimum Wage was introduced and now Black unemployment is double that of Whites. The Minimum Wage is historically used by racists, usually Union racists, to keep minority's from competing for their jobs. That's what happened in Canada, Australia, South Africa and the United States. Thanks to Democrat welfare programs the Black family has been decimated. In 50 years they went from the same family structure as Whites, to 72% of all Black kids being raised in single parent homes and all the negative consequences that have come with it. Still, Democrats look at Blacks as property and Black leaders are happy to sell their constituents into more of this destitution so long as they personally get a seat at the White man table. Both parties need to be torn down and replaced.

Never mind that the replaced jobs pay 23 percent less, the median family income is stagnant while prices rise and the avg weeks on unemployment is 32 compared to 18-22 the 8 years before the crash.
All of that kills the middle class.

Just as I expected, no substance in the OP. Because someone said. Gonna go after him because he lowered the taxes on those greedy corporations?
Read on.

Dayton said the proposed drop in the state sales tax rate to 5.5 percent would move Minnesota from 7th highest sales tax to 27th
Dayton said the new sales taxes and rate would generate $2 billion in tax revenue.

Dayton's budget imposes a new income tax tier for the state's richest 2 percent.

Dayton's proposal carries out what's been a signature goal of his governorship. He would create a new, fourth-tier income tax bracket of 9.85%, which would apply to taxable income over $250,000 for married joint filers and single filers who earn above $150,000.
Dayton stressed the new rate would apply to only to small portion of Minnesota's taxpayers.

Dayton also called for a 14 percent cut in Minnesota's corporate business tax rate – the largest cut in state history.
The governor proposed lowering the corporate income tax rate from 9.8 percent to 8.4 percent – a cut that would move Minnesota from the 4th highest rate to 12th.

Dayton proposed a $500 property tax rebate for all Minnesotans, calling it a tax cut for middle-income families.

Dayton proposed increasing cigarette and tobacco taxes to bring in an additional $370 million in revenue.

Who took major contributions from Comcast in exchange for FCC approval of buy NBC and create a virtual cable/internet monopoly? Who bailed out the Auto Industry on the backs of the Middle Class? Who enacted the ACA which created a virtual monopoly for the insurance companies and helped them to record profits this year? Who's allowing Big Pharma to keep prescription drug prices outrageous by refusing to let Americans by their meds overseas? Obama, Democrats, Obama, Democrats. Republicans love this stuff too of course, but the idea that Democrats are somehow against this stuff is preposterous. They are every bit as complicit in corporate cronyism, if not more.

This Billionaire Governor Taxed the Rich and Increased the Minimum Wage -- Now, His State's Economy Is One of the Best in the Country
First off, it's ironic to me that a person like yourself can't see through the irony of an entitled, 1% billionaire like Gov Dayton, who's family made their fortunes on the backs of the middle class and poor, having the gall to pretend he's a man of the people or for the Middle Class.

Second, our system has served the demographic of Minnesota very well over the years, but doesn't mean it would transfer and work the same in other states that don't share the same demographics and culture. It's like Edina or Minnetonka bragging that their test scores are higher than Mpls North's. We are a largely homogenous people in Minnesota, who's culture primarily mirrors that of Scandinavia and Germany. We value high level education, hard work, organization, respect of law, honesty, politeness, etc. hat has led to a very successful and productive state. So long as most people are on the productive side of the equation, it works. The minute we have more people taking than giving, it will cease to work.
