Bibi and Likud prevailed, Zionist Union lost seats and power. Israel essentially moved right. Good for them, and I'd crack up if the Israeli papers invited President Obama, the EU Left and the UN General Assembly to all drink a nice tall glass of s_t_f_u.
Regardless of whether you like Bibi or not, it is 100% true that he is volatile to international relations, specifically to the 2 state solution.
You are also wrong about the results of the election,
the Zionist Union actually gained 3 seats, not lost.
Bibi's Party won 12 more seats but their coalition has a net loss of 1 seat. they took seats from their coalition members, not from the "left"
If Kulanu sides with the Zionest Union, they will have 4 more seats than Likud, and then it would just come down to who picks of the smaller parties. Im not sure how the threshold works for smaller parties, those parties that got less than 4 seats may be reallocated, idk
What these News headlines should really state is that Netanyah's party won more seats, not that he has won reelection as the Prime Minister, because in truth, he hasnt.
The Israeli government is not like the US government where only 2 parties have seats in the legislature.

The polls werent actually wrong, Netanyahu's coalition lost a net of one seat(likud gained 12, everyone else in the coalition lost a total of 13). the leftist gained 3 seat, and we dont know who the none coalition parties will join with.

Yes, their system is very different from ours. Typically it takes six weeks for them to form the government.

Funny thing now is all the inside the Beltway pundits and the leftists are telling Netanyahu, after all their failed predictions and poor analysis, what he now “must do.”

The news headlines already stated his party won more seats and also states he is on his way to a new term
Netanyahu has already stated he is going to work on forming a new government right away
Isaac Herzog called Netanyahu to concede defeat as well.
The President has already suggested he favor Netanyahu to form the coalition government

kulanu isnt in the Coalition, neither is Shas.

The reelection is in the bag.
The smaller parties are not in lock step wit Likud, they could choose to form another coalition with the leftist, and the prime minister is not automatically re elected just because the coalition retains a majority of seats. He has to be chosen.
lets assume the numbers are finalized and the coalition stays intact , that means there are 38 other possible votes for a different prime minister with in the coalition other than Bibi.
So again, His party won, there is no guarantee that he has.

What you are posting is assumptions
His party won and yes he is guarantee based on everything said so far
Again the President has already said he is picking Bibi to form the government

I posted no assumption, i am very well aware that it is more than likely that Netanyahu will be re elected, but it is a fact that he has not been yet. Some people in this forum has made the argument that he has and that is 100% wrong even if you do believe it is inevitable. All i did was simply put forth a scenario where he didnt become Prime Minister again.
and no, it isnt a guarantee that he will, saying it is would be the only assumption either of us has made.

The scenario you posted is based on assumption that he can't form a coalition.
Actually it is pretty guaranteed, especially when the president already made his pick and certain parties already siding one way. What I posted wasn't assumption, it was statements made by officials in Israel. I don't post scenarios nor assumptions. Maybe just maybe people are making such claims he is in because of statements made by officials/parties in Israel.
