So we know the letter Republicans wrote to Iran and we know the Republican budget wants to increase military spending dramatically. How long do you think it would take a Republican president to invade Iran? First term?

The Republican budget cuts Medicare, ACA

The Republican budget proposed today:

House budget adds “emergency” war spending through the “overseas contingency operations” account, which does not count against the spending limits. The House budget includes $94 billion to fight the “global war on terrorism” in 2016, $43 billion more than Mr. Obama has requested.

Apparently they don't. Obama seems to want to allow Iran to get into a position where war with the US is almost certain.

if you watched the joint chiefs of staff testimony then you know why. Example is at start of gulf War Bush had 180 fighter squadron to call on. We now have 50 and soon to be cut to 40 to keep combat ready. We are also facing the Gulf War pilots retiring and the airlines recruiting them as Vietnam pilots are retiring from airlines. Defense it #1 priority of government and we are not ready; plain and simple.no wander the world is less and less paying any attention to US in enemies and allies. They called Obama o his redline and ISIS just moved into vacuum he created.; Putin did not worry at all. As Teddy said ;speak softly and carry a big stick; as true today as always.

How many are needed to defend our country?

Maybe our "allies" need to pay their own way

Of course they do, and the Iranians know it too. Especially now.

Is it any wonder they want a nuclear bomb? I mean, if the U.S. was being threatened by another nation with the strongest military in the world, and we didn't have the bomb, we damn sure would be working on building one, regardless of what a bunch of religious whack jobs were writing letters about.

It sounds like the Republicans want a war but not only with Iran but some politicians in the Republican party have been looking for a war for a long time. The nation Of Georgia almost got into NATO which would have meant that we would have been in a war with Russia in the Caucasus but it lost by one vote(Rand Paul's vote)

The problem here is if Obama all of a sudden took the position that negotiating was a waste of time with Iran and started ramping up war talk the OP would be all over that.

There was a contingent of the principled left that bucked Obama's actions in Libya and put the brakes on Syria but for the most part the left backed him. We were supposed to be out of Iraq and Afghanistan but yet, the war drags on.

Yes, the GOP by and large is wrong on Iran but at least you know where they stand.

That would be a vacuum that your boy Bush created. And, oh yea, he created ISIS too.
