Depends on the culture. Here in the USA we would say no. That may not be the case in other nations. For us here in the USA and many Western nations dogs, cats, and horses are used for a different purpose than food. I have heard that in Europe they have consumed horses and in some Asian nations Dogs, cats, and whales have been consumed. In Alaska I am aware of the Eskimo's consuming whale. Not sure if any one is consuming dolphins.
Maybe consult some of those educated people that you mentioned speaking with. They would probably have more information on this. Why do you ask?
I asked it as a personal question, I am aware that people in other countries do. Most Americans are complete hypocrites, they are fine with eating pigs or cows but freak out if people eat dogs or cats.

What I eat is not the single most important thing to keeping this condition stable, and stable is the best I can get. The condition doesn't ever completely go away. But, diet hedges things in my favor. But hey... thanks for that intelligent, well thought out "answer". Next time I need major reconstructive surgery, maybe I'll consult your practice. If your ethic allow meat eaters as patients, that is.

That is the crux of illogical speciesim. There is NOTHING inherently special about humans. We are just another animal. If it weren't for intelligent people making discoveries and technological progress we would still be living in our own sh*t. Anatomically modern humans have been around for about 200000 years. If you went back 100000 years ago we were living very much like chimps with the same sized brains as we have now. Hell, even many primative cultures all around the world don't live very differently from chimps. It is only because we are standing on the shoulders of giants that we seem special. If you put a group of babies in the middle of the woods and they managed to survive they would maybe have very basic tools and it might take generations for even rudimentary language to be developed.

The way that I see it the destruction of the family unit is one thing that is wrong with this Country. Lack of Faith in God is another thing that is wrong with this Country. Socialism in the guise of liberalism is what is wrong with this Country. Being morally corrupt is another thing that is wrong with this Country. You have a lot of kids that have been raised in homes that are missing a dad or a mom. You have young men that grow up not learning how to be men. You have women that say that they don't need a man in the home. You have men that start families and then runaway from their responsibilities. I would say that those are issues that show what is wrong with the country. You have young kids dressing in a way that is not appropriate. You have pop stars showing them how to live and a lack of parenting within the walls of the home. I would say that is something that is wrong with this Country.

Illogical thinking (religious thinking) and overpopulation are the biggest problems in this country. There is ZERO reason for someone to have 6 kids, how selfish can you get? There is a difference between family and burdening the country with six people for your own selfish reasons. I do agree with you in the part I underlined though.
Or maybe Stanford, Caltech or one of the other UC's.
I really find it hard to believe you are a physicist at one of the left wing state universities. You argue at such a low level, and your writing is simplistic and unrefined.
