So should the government be involved in forcing single parents to marry?
What if a woman takes her kids and leaves her husband due to abuse - should the government force her to stay with him?
What if one parent dies - should the surviving spouse be required to remarry after a certain amount of time?
I don't really think you've thought this through.
Let's look at what Obama said, just a few years ago...
"Now, I can’t legislate fatherhood -- I can’t force anybody to love a child. But what we can do is send a clear message to our fathers that there is no excuse for failing to meet their obligations. What we can do is make it easier for fathers who make responsible choices and harder for those who avoid those choices. What we can do is come together and support fathers who are willing to step up and be good partners and parents and providers. And that’s why today we’re launching the next phase of our work to promote responsible fatherhood -- a new, nationwide Fatherhood and Mentoring Initiative."
THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CIRCUMSTANCES (DIVORCE/ABANDONMENT/DEATH) RESULTING IN A CHILD BEING WITHOUT A MOTHER OR FAHTER... and... GOVERNEMENT LEGALLY DENYING A CHILD A MOTHER OR FATHER.
If you read with comprehension, you will realize that the problems listed by these children raised by homosexual parents are unique to homosexual lifestyle issues.
Children have the right to NOT be legally denied a mother and father.
So you quite strongly support banning single parenting by heterosexuals?
So I guess along the same vein, granting a divorce would be legally denying a child one of the two obverse, eh? You cannot colour that any other way if legalities are involved. You're splitting hairs here and you know it.
Pch,
You probably don't even realize you engaged in logical fallacy and are probably unaware that usually when ad hominem attacks are made it is because the attacker has nothing better to contribute to the discussion.
"Researchers found that 17 percent of children with same-sex parents had serious emotional problems compared to 7 percent of children with a mom and dad."
Study: Children of Parents in Same-Sex Relationships Face Greater Risks
http://www.citizenlink.com/2012/06/11/study-children-of-parents-in-same-sex-relationships-face-greater-risks/ "According to data from the New Family Structures Study, led by Mark Regnerus at the University of Texas at Austin, children raised by homosexual parents are dramatically more likely than peers raised by married heterosexual parents to suffer from a host of social problems. Among them are strong tendencies, as adults, to exhibit poor impulse control; suffer from depression and thoughts of suicide; need mental health therapy; identify themselves as homosexual; choose cohabitation; be unfaithful to partners; contract sexually transmitted diseases; be sexually molested; have lower income levels; drink to get drunk; and smoke tobacco and marijuana."
Homosexual couples are NOT in any way equal to heterosexual couples.
And they have the same right to marry someone of the opposite sex, as marriage has been defined as.
The reason for legalizing marriage was not origionally to validate sexual distortions.
It was to ensure the well being of society - all of whom come by a union of a man and a woman.
Do you think about the well being of children?
Children raised by homosexual parents are pleading in opposition to ssm. They don't want others to be legally denied a mother or father and don't want other children to be subject to the abuse and dysfunctional ways of those living the homosexual lifestyle. Adults Raised by Gay Couples Speak Out Against Gay
Or are you so fooled by the "gay" parading that you've been swayed to believe that the needs of adults are more important than children?
Shame on you!
You should be standing for truth not joining in the harmful deception that has bullied itself through our society.
Have you even looked into the harm homosexual behavior proves to be - according to the US CDC - STDS, HIV/AIDS and mental illness in high stats.
And doctors warn of anal sex risks.
Michael Glatze (ex-homosexual and ex "gay rights" leader) said, "Homosexuality is death and I choose life.
Why in the world would you want to legally support something known to be so harmful?
Just because of peer pressure - no back bone?
These testimonies of adult children raised by homosexual parents reveal the likelihood of more related problems, if courts push marriage redefined to include homosexuality.
”[/i]
This is exactly how social scapegoat is created, by several testimonies.
I am sure there are failed gay parents out there, but in all fairness, heterosexual couples should take responsibility for adultery, spousal abuse, infidelity, out of wedlock births, and other issues too. Somehow, someone still believe crappy heterosexual couples still make better parents than responsible gay couples. I don't think it is fair.
Plus, what do you think about gay kid? I always believe gay kid is better off with homosexual parents.
If you read with comprehension, you will realize that the problems listed by these children raised by homosexual parents are unique to homosexual lifestyle issues.
Children have the right to NOT be legally denied a mother and father.
Not only do we each need a mother and father TO EXIST, we also need them to thrive in this world...
So should we force male and female parents to raise children no matter what or take children away from single parents? Children need a loving parent or parents, that is the most important factor, not their sex or sexual orientation.
