But if it is for other reasons, no problem. But I suspect it is the former, some people in small towns are like this. they think they can openly disrespect a black man in simply for and because they are black.
It's a rural small town in Missouri with few job prospects. Nobody quits a cushy government job & paycheck just because the new boss is black.

Nothing says "I'm innocent" like wiping your hard drive.

Good that they are gone. Don't need racists. When blacks were first able to go into cafes, etc. some shop owners closed their doors because they were not going to have to wait on them.

Another ugly unneccessary race thread being manufactured.

They really should just start banning people around here.

Our town attorney turns in his resignation after every election as do the Town Clerk, Treasurer and Public Works Director.

As a note, 7 officers is the minimum needed to provide 24 hour coverage.
Not to mention they were part time and did not live in Parma.

Eh, you do know it was a predominately White town that voted in a Black woman as mayor

Nothing, just the usual race baiters trying to make something out of nothing. Notice the OP didn't choose to say "Missouri town elects female mayor, city officials resign" or "Missouri town elects democrat mayor, city officials resign" or "Missouri town elects law & order mayor, city officials resign" or "Missouri town elects honest mayor, city officials resign"

And you can't blame this one on the article title as it simply said "new mayor".

Sounds all the world like the Gravy Train pulled into the station and got a new conductor, so a bunch of freeloaders jumped off before the conductor threw them off.

Methinks those resigned doth protest too much.

Of course, the national news media is going to run with this as a racial story. lol

Just to put this in perspective, you are talking about a town of 700 that had six police officers. Also, the town that elected Mayor Byrd is 67% white.
I thought the above when I initially saw this story, that since the former mayor was in office 37 years that the people who resigned were afraid that their corruption and probably theft would be found out.
