LMAO. 5 of the 6 cops resign as well as the city's attorney, the clerk and the waste water treatment plant supervisor also turned in resignation letters citing "safety concerns."

Don't see enough in the article to really form much of an opinion. Without knowing exactly why they resigned, it'll be hard to be outraged (well, maybe not). Need more info here.

The previous Mayor held the office for 37 years. Something tells me that corruption might have been the cause of the resignations. Parma's police force has a bit of a reputation, and it ain't a good one either. I've heard rumors that several hard drives were wiped clean also. Of course, the national news media is going to run with this as a racial story. lol

Just to put this in perspective, you are talking about a town of 700 that had six police officers. Also, the town that elected Mayor Byrd is 67% white.

Exactly.. but they cite safety concerns. I guess they meant "their" safety from being caught with their hands in the cookie jar.

37 years is a long time for 2 terms.

I was going to say that maybe the "safety concerns" were them losing their jobs since, according to residents, they hardly ever saw them DO their jobs.

This is small town Missouri. You'd expect these kinds of things there.

I am confused as to what the mayor's skin color has to do with anything.

From the article:

"She (the new mayor) said her first order of business will be to help clean up the city."

Looks like she already accomplished that without ever being sworn in.

They will try to make it a story......amazing even some blacks are falling for this. Who can't see when they're being used as puppets. Be nice to see the WHOLE community bring their town back.
