Throwing out a few cases where the supposed victim lied doesn't change the fact that many cases never see the light of day for a multitude of reasons, UVA and others do damage to the underlying issues and people tend to take this as the norm, they are not.
With the possible exception of a handful of radical and unreliable men's rights activists, no one--including most men's rights activists--is arguing that fraudulent accusations are the norm. The percentage figure for false accusations of rape generally proposed by impartial entities is between 8% and 10%.
The concern is that those fraudulent claims which do occur, go ignored and unpunished. This happens largely because rape culture feminists have created a false paradigm, which suggests that society either works for the benefit of rape victims or works for the benefit of false-accusation victims.
Ensuring that the interests of actual sexual assault victims, and the interests of false accusation victims are pursued, is neither morally nor legally incongruent. In fact, it is a basic principle of justice.

I agree that many victims never do see actual justice served, but Emma Sulkowicz's numerous lies is what started this discussion.
You never heard of the Duke Lacrosse case? You must be really young then.
In a nutshell, accused members of Duke lacrosse team of rape, the local prosecutor supported her case, she was a liar, the PA was disbarred, the young men's reputations, at least temporarily, were ruined, she murdered her boyfriend, with a knife I believe, was recently convicted, and is now in prison for many years.
I agree with the OP, but the problem is in proving intent...you have to be able to prove that it was their intent to premeditate false accusations of rape.
According to the letter of the law a "not guilty" verdict does not mean that one is 'innocent'. It only means that the prosecution was unable to prove it's case.
Outside if that, proving intent is a very high bar to reach.
Defending false accusations because they are not a high percent is unacceptable. Is your objective to intimidate men with false accusations so they will plead guilty when they are innocent?
Nice try. Thanks for proving my point.
No one defends false accusations. We just know that all the handwringing and self-pity are a ploy to continue intimidating women from reporting actual rape. Accusing us of defending false accusations is, of course, a lie, as well as a strawman intended to demean us and damage our credibility.

Yes, just like you accusing us of defending rape. Look in the mirror.
