Where are they hoarding all their cash? Are they stuffing it in a mattress, or letting rot in a bank collecting almost no interest at all? Or is it put to work in investments?
Even if all they did was let it rot in a bank, that enables a the bank to give out loans.
So you want to punish success. As do these so-called 52% BS.
So you advocate socialism.
Hint, the rich already pay the majority of the taxes while the poor pay none.
Well that's not really true. I make $12 ph, after taxes I take home about $9. 12 ph @ 40 hpw I can deal with, I can live semi-comfortably off of that. 9ph at 40hpw however, I cannot. I was speaking with my father about this actually, he owns a small business and makes quite a bit more than I do to put it simply, and he said that the lower class has it worse with taxes, and he's right. Sure he is taxed more than I am, but he can afford it, that $200+ taken out of my pay check every 2 weeks breaks me, it's the difference between me constantly struggling and me having my head above water. So you're incorrect, the poor DO pay taxes, and honestly, they shouldn't. I strongly believe no one making under $15 per hour should pay any federal or state taxes. And I STRONGLY STRONGLY STRONGLY believe social security should be optional and privatized. I have no interest in paying that, I'd much rather eat.
Progressive taxation is the cornerstone of a developed society. Without high income taxes on "the rich," they are able to hoard more. Prosperity does not trickle down in the real world.
Disclaimer: Progressive taxation is not just about revenue, it is about incentive. Higher taxes on the rich discourage excess hoarding and outlandish salaries.
So I'm glad liberals admit that "taxing the rich" is just another attempt(most likely a failed one) at social engineering and trying to control peoples behavior.

From the link:
" The best way for a corporation to make money is to fire people".
Get rid off all taxes, get rid of the IRS, and have a national sales tax. That way EVERYBODY pays, and rich will pay more because they by more stuff and more expensive stuff. Also you would get all that money floating around in the Black market(i.e. drugs, gambling, prositution, etc).
Companies and individuals having a bigger "cash position" is now "hoarding" ?
You normally have a larger cash position when the economy/markets are more volatile.
You want that liquidity.
Of course I read them...do you even understand that a 'bigger cash position' means hoarding as opposed to investing? If you don't put money back into the economy that is hoarding, and when the rich sock it away offshore that should be criminal. And one more thing, you don't need to be an apologist for the rich unless you are rich, they do just fine without your "help"
I'm just amazed that people in this thread prattle on about the poor paying 'their share' but they can't see the real culprit here.. If the rich reinvested their money in the US it could create more jobs and possibly the wages which have been stagnant for decades would start to increase.

I'm sorry that people who work for a living (and this probably includes yourself) have been so thoroughly brainwashed that they ignore the principles of economics in order to support some bizarre political agenda that will in all likelihood destroy democracy and replace it with neo-feudalism
The rich aren't the job creators. Why don't people know this?

I kinda agree with Stephen. Especially these days when most kids just get handed jobs at the top.
Entrepreneurs, particularly humanitarian entrepreneurs are who we should be looking towards. Examples: Costco, Starbucks (for paying their employees tuition).
Look at how those companies operate compared to say Wal-Mart. The above were created by true entrepreneurs. Humanitarian entrepreneurs who took what they had, and reinvested it back into this country.
We need less Bain Capitals and money manipulators who add no real value to the country.

I think Cornelius Vanderbilt, (Rail Roads) John D. Rockefeller,(Oil and gas) Andrew Carnegie, (Steel) J.P. Morgan, (Banking) Henry Ford(,auto industry) Bill Gates, (computer industry) Sam Walton, (retail) Steve Jobs, (computers) Jeff Bezos,(e commerce) Ray Croc, (Mc Donalds) Thomas Edison, (General Electric) Fred Smith, (Fed Ex) Rupert Murdoch, (News Corp) Ted Turner (CNN, TBS, TNT), would disagree.
