GA principal fired after making 'black people' remark - CNN.com

Just saw this.

I agree she should not have said "All the black people" ..but I have noticed a trend of rudeness at these graduation ceremonies.

I used to work at a college and heard about how many people left early . I guess that is the attitude of many people , "I did what I came for , now I'm going to leave..this is a waste of time".

For the program that I was in (Masters' degree) I heard that they just started an 'online ceremony' because pretty much all the courses are online .

So my bigger question is , are graduation ceremonies also going obsolete , or will they be one day?
Does the current generation 'not have time' or patience for these ceremonies.

I am glad that I attended my graduation ceremonies , but it seems not everyone feels the same way.

If you don't want to be there, why even show up?..

People left because the ceremony was over, she skipped a speech and wanted people to come back and listen to it, they werent being rude, she just screwed up and then went after everyone who had already been on their way out the door.

As for your question about graduation, its just another way to screw college students out of their money. I think my graduation fee in High school was 75 dollars for cap gown, gold plaque and actual diploma, In college it was like 1,000 for them to "check and make sure I was eligible to graduate", pay for my guests' tickets, cap and gown, and so forth.

if what you say does happen, i wonder how they are going to make up that extra money.

I think she should have received second chance; maybe had a bad day. Political correctness must end!

I'm only guessing by such a comment that there is support for what she said. Why else would one make a KFC joke on such a discussion?

I would expect a crass comment like that. Here is an important question. Why not just concentrate on the subject matter as to why someone who make walking out of a ceremony a racial issue? That is what the Principal did.

What would happen if a black principal said "Look who is leaving, all the WHITE people". Not a thing. Blacks are special and whites are trash.

If people were being rude by leaving early, fine. However, that was no reason for that woman to turn it into a race issue.
