I respectfully submit that most people agree that knowledge obtained from education is critical to being able to think and analyze a complex topic. For example, you need to have a deep understanding of macro- and microeconomics to even begin to understand the complexities and interrelatedness of the U.S. and global economies.

Not everything is common sense. If it were, anyone could design a house, fix my car, create an intercontinental missile, make a smartphone, perform surgery on others, launch a rocket to orbit, and so on.

Who needs education or training? People who want to think for themselves in an informed manner.

Mick

They could bring back 1980 Ronald Reagan and they would still lose. The demographics and electoral map just doesn't add up

Well, if they brought back the 1980 Ronald Reagan AND the 1980 Jimmy Carter . . . a different ballgame . . . maybe.

They're not. The media that you watch and listen too tell you to feel that way.

I am moderate...lean a bit to the right

Democrats are rock stars...they cater to the young, idealistic, and of course the poor and entitled

Republicans are old fat rich cronies that are all about the $$...there isn't a personality in the bunch...

either way, they are both puppets controlled by the same DAMN corporations and big money...they simply purposely cater to certain LARGE base voter groups and then fight for the swing voters...the poor and entitled will always vote dem, the rich and religious will always vote repub...college kids can go either way...

I am not a republicrat...how can anyone be a registerd dem or repub...neither one really give a flying fluck about you or i

I am thrilled that Reid is gone, now if we could get rid of the rest of the good old boys...they don't give a damn about what Americans want, all they care about is themselves...and power. If they had to work for a living most would have been fired.

Logic & common sense do not require advanced degrees from high brow universities. They are also the opposite of long weasel worded responses where neither are present.

Must be why desirable employers are always looking for people who are strong on "self-assessed" logic and common sense, as opposed to education. What do they know.

I like your last sentence. Keep working on it.

However, I'm really puzzled at how they keep dredging up these total buffoons to represent their party in Presidential elections! I won't even get started about Dubya, who had the speaking skills of an 8th grader who rode the short yellow bus if you get my drift. GW Bush should be in front of a firing squad for all the lies about WMD's. Sarah Palin is like the punchline of a really bad junior high joke.

Just take this guy Dr. Ben Carson. A Yale graduate and youngest black chief neurosurgeon in the history of the United States, and yet he honestly believes homosexuality is a "choice" and that evolution is fake? They should revoke his medical license for even saying such drivel. Who would see a doctor with a brain as confused and ignorant as this man's?

And what about Jeb Bush --- the ultimate flip-floppity waffling liar? One day he says he would invade Iraq all over again, and the next day he says he wouldn't do it. Can anyone trust this dude with even the simplest questions?

Chris Christie ran up over $83,000 in NJ taxpayer dollars on snacks and booze at NFL games? Swear to God, that's something you'd hear from a stand up comedian, but it's actually true! Oh my, that is sooo pathetic and sad.

Can't wait to see Ol' Bible-Thumper Rick Santorum ramp up his schtick again. This weirdo wants to immediately launch Crusades in every Middle Eastern country and strap gay men to Tomahawk missiles in order to bomb Tehran and Pyongyang back to the Stone Age. What a lovely tolerant Christian, eh?

Hillary is laughing at how easy it will be to take the White House in 2016. Bill is already making the talk show rounds and it's looking like a victory tour, folks.
I don't know but as a fellow Democrat I find the lack of quality GOP candidates maddening. I know many intelligent, thoughtful and centrist Republicans IRL. Why can't the GOP find one to represent them nationally?
