Barack Obama was elected in 2008 and he immediately started trying to paint whites against blacks. If you want to know why there is racial polarization now, look no further than then racist rhetoric of President Barack Hussein Obama, the most racist president the USA has ever had.
I don't know, LBJ is pretty up there. Or maybe he was just more honest about his views (along with just about everything else) in comparison.
The "question" was in the form of a biased opinion of what the confederate flag means. Did you do any research into what the flag means to native South Carolinans? Did you just accept what some anti-South Carolinan told you? If so, than you are a BIGOT.
you just can't help but evade, it doesn't look good one you.
you sound like clinton when he wondered what the meaning of "is" is.
Still fighting the war and still griping about slavery after 150 years. You guys lost and you other guys were freed so get over it. I know up here in Pa when you see a rebel flag on a houses garage or on a truck( which is thankfully a very rare thing, maybe once or twice a year) I take it as a loser sign like an L on their forehead. But I guess they might be southern transplants possibly so I'm not completely condemning.
I don't have a problem seeing it down south over battlefields or in cemeteries or in parades. Or flown privately. I guess its a southern pride and history thing. Not in public or government buildings but they can decide for themselves, I don't live there. Still, banning a flag( and you can't ban it except in public areas) won't stop racism. Any more than banning hoodies or pants at your knees will stop ridiculous behavior or banning shaved heads will stop racism or banning guns will stop violence. Its a knee jerk reaction right now in lieu of leadership, nothing more.
Its ironic. We're squabbling over what an old flag still represents and completely uncaring that our current flag is losing what it once represented.
Ah, the jest thing makes sense. I know in Hollywood's version of the South, we're all down here reenacting the Civil War and causing it the War of Northern Aggression - which don't even get me started on Hollywood's portrayal of the South! I'm originally from Georgia myself - very deep south Georgia.
To be fair, Hollywood is full of ignorant morons. Who have been taught the politically-correct version of history, and don't want to listen to anything which contradicts the anti-south/pro-Union dogma that people are indoctrinated with in their youth.
I'm telling you, I've lived all over the country. And the history taught in the North, and the general beliefs of Northerners about the the Civil War(and everything else), is insanity. And the sad thing is, they actually believe that they are the educated ones. While turning up their noses at everyone else.
Not all of them BTW, but it goes in that direction. And honestly, there is really nothing I want more than to secede from those arrogant northern bigots. I quit caring about what they think of me a long time ago.
