Makes sense, the women's restroom often has a line-up while the guy's restroom is empty.
I can see women however not reacting well to the pee on the floor left by men in public restrooms.

Many women hover.
Besides cooties I don't understand the opposition to unisex single occupancy restrooms (pedos! rapists! trannies!) - you enter and lock the door behind you.
If I have to go and a single occupancy girl bathroom is not occupied I'll walk right in and do my duty. Obviously only if the boys is taken.
I've used a multi-occupancy woman's restroom that was unoccupied when the men's room was occupied and locked. I've also gone in the ladies room when there were no paper towels or soap in the men's room. When nature calls, you answer it.

I walked into a bathroom once and the only toilet was out of order, the other bathroom was locked
Oh well sink goes to the same place
Of course I rinsed it out well and wiped it out with paper towels.
I thought all single occupancy bathrooms were all gender.
