Looks like $800 for singles, and $1600 for couples.
My first thought was "Yo! Big old high-def LCD 1080p TV here I come!"
But then I thought -- hey, they're imported. That won't help the US economy much. In fact, everything I could think of -- electronics, new tires for the car, even vintage wines -- is imported.
Can someone suggest good purchases I can make with my $1600 that will help the domestic economy? And I do intend to spend it...
I think I'm going to go buy some crack.. Never done it in my life, but this way when I get hooked, I can sue the government for helping to cause my adiction. My settlement, which will of course raise the national debt, and help the economy further will make that $800 look like chump change.
Use the $1600 on a down payment on June and July electric bill.
It could also buy gas for the car for 2-3 months.
Maybe just buy 1600 lottery tickets.
Whatever I do with it, it is mine. It was extorted from me without my permission in the first place.
Its not being taken from you.. Its being taken from your children as its coming from the national debt. They are simply printing more money, with no plans of paying for it. Nothing taken from anyone, yet.
Looks like rebate is capped at $1,200. Everyone will get at least $300 even those who don't make enough to pay income taxes. I've had my eye on a Hubbardton Forge lamp, handmade in Vermont, for a while. Either that or save.

You could buy a nice rifle and some ammo and it may come in handy in the near future.
Ammo, the currency of the 21st century.
