"The federal minimum wage has not been raised since 2009. Increasing the minimum wage would directly benefit 62 million workers who currently make less than $15 an hour, including over half of African-American workers and close to 60 percent of Latino workers. If the minimum wage had kept up with productivity and inflation since 1968, it would be more than $26 an hour today."
Included in the 62 million workers making under $15 hour are members of Bernie Sanders' own staff. According to the senators' website, Interns are paid only $12 an hour.
What is good for thee is not good for me.
Progs gonna prog, what can you do?

He is paying them well above minimum wage which is more than many do. To me this is like those who complained that Ron Paul would fight for smaller government but then still take the benefits back to his state. Of course he should, he lost the argument but he should get as much of his constituents money back for them as possible.
Bernie is paying better than most. There is nothing to say that if the minumum wage was $15 that he wouldn't pay $18.

The real question as others have pointed out is, if he thinks that's what it should be why isn't he doing it now? Why do Leftists who espouse these beliefs, like paying higher taxes and higher wages, have to be FORCED to do it by law only? Why? If they truly believed in these things they would just do it, but they don't.
You can't be a Liberal without being a huge hypocrite. Super rich Bernie wants struggling small businesses to pay wages 25% higher than what he pays his staff...hypocrite.
How the Senate Exploits Unpaid Interns
Barely a third of U.S. senators pay their interns -- and embarrassingly for Democrats, a party focused on workplace welfare, most of them are Republicans.
