A number of cruise missiles launched from a Russian ship and aimed at targets in Syria have crashed in Iran, two U.S. officials told CNN Thursday.
Monitoring by U.S. military and intelligence assets has concluded that at least four missiles crashed as they flew over Iran. One official said there may be casualties, but another official said this is not yet known.
perhaps wrong way corrigan programmed the missiles? or its possible that the russians were actually delivering the missiles to iran covertly, and they used the excuse that they were supposed to hit targets in syria.
The missiles were launched from ships in the Caspian Sea and had to fly over Iran (and Iraq) to hit Syria. Since the Russians, Syrians, and Iranians are allies, presumably the Russians had permission to overfly Iran.
The Russians or Iranians don't acknowledge that missiles missed their targets; the Obama administration makes that claim. I'll acknowledge that all three can be liars.

What reason would the Obama administration have to lie about it ?
