Yeah, who cares if family businesses and farms have to be sold to pay the taxes?

I mean, I grew up in the 60's and 70's where they got you hooked on Tobacco because they knew it was addicting and they were ruled by Tobacco industry. Now I pay a sin tax?

What is that about?

I pay what? 4 bucks a pack to the government and I am taxed to death on everything I buy. I should already have free health care from the taxes I pay but O no, the government doesn't take enough of my money so I will vote in anyone who promises to tax me more.

Hell, People get notices by the I.R.S. assuring them that they owe 2000 bucks cause they didn't have insurance for being alive, and I think it's a down right shame that the government doesn't tax me for every mile I drive, O yeah, they will get that one done.

Oh for crying out loud. You are complaining about a federal estate tax that impacts .2% of all estates on values in excess of $5.4 million. I would be thrilled to have the value of an inherited estate in excess of $5.4 million reduced by taxes.

The European countries all impose a federal estate or inheritence tax and the amounts exempted are substantially lower than the US.

Not all European countries allow their wealthy to legally avoid taxes, notably capital gains. For example most cantons in Switzerland impose an annual wealth tax on all world- wide assets.

The top 50% of US tax filers paid an average 7% federal tax rate. I suspect most Europeans would be giddy if their federal tax rates were as low as they are in the US. Then again, they may not care for some of the consequences of relatively low taxes.

How many estates are valued in excess of $5.4 million? There are hundreds of loopholes to reduce or eliminate federal estate taxes. 99.8% of all estates are exempt from federal estate taxes.

I know you hate Obama but everything that you don't like isn't about Obama. The tax on cigs has been around a long time before President Obama was sworn in. It was raised on February 4, 2009 from $0.39 per pack to $1.01 per pack. The increase was to help cover the cost of increased coverage under the State Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP).

Taxes on cigarettes has been a very effective way to keep teens from starting smoking. Most of the tax is from your state.

From Sen. Franken:

Quote:
Those who want to eliminate the estate tax, understandably, don't put the children of the incredibly wealthy in their campaign literature. Instead, they talk about family farms - as if family farms have been lost to the estate tax. Yet according to the New York Times, the American Farm Bureau Federation was unable to name one family farm lost because of the estate tax. And opponents of the tax insinuate that it's impossible to design a policy that continues to protect the family farms that might be even slightly affected.

No, I'm not. I'm talking about income and capital gains. Rich Scandinavians and Europeans can and do legally hide income and gains (no FATCA laws), so that's all tax-free to them.

Ingvar Kamprad, Swedish billionaire, did so for decades. Here's more info on just some of the ways they do it:

The 'who's who' of European tax havens

Of course, tax havens exist worldwide.

And how would they even know about foreign-held wealth? They have no FATCA law. And many countries have strict financial account secrecy laws.

Yeah, so about 4 or 5 years ago, I go to my cousin Joey's place right next to the tattoo shop and there are always cool people around, and being so freakishly white, I need to tan at Joey's place so's I get there and Joey is like,'' Dude, I am going to have to charge you double,'' and so I said,'' Yo Joey, what's up with that dude? I am your own kin.''

Turned out that Obama had done gone and went and taxed my cousin Joey almost out of Businesses and he goes into telling me how the industry has lost thousands of jobs because of the tanning tax and the ridiculous laws they put on those evil tanners, and so Bo comes walking into the shop, and Bo goes into telling me that even the Tattoo industry is in trouble and the government wants to tax your tattoos. I gotta tell ya, I didn't know what to think after talking with Bo and Joey, this was my last place to feel at home away from home and the tanning place was about to go under cause of Obama care taxes against it.

Now I am not a greedy man, I don't mind paying my fair share of taxes but BY GOD, do they have to freaking tax EVERYTHING?

Wouldn't ya just know it, My cousin Joey comes by a couple weeks later because he couldn't afford all the taxes after the government went after they money right outta Joey's pocket so I felt sorry for him and found him a Gig out at Thompson bottom where we charge people to take them out in the woods and tell them stories of Cat woman while sitting in a boat being pulled by a trailer down the rode like they on a fishing adventure. We pull up with some Led Zepplin playing the rain song fixing to go into some pink Floyd and while the boaters are having a tom Collins on board Joey is getting ready to do his thang. Now see, Joey is hiding under a bridge when we pull up and we go into the factual account of the cat woman attack down at Thompson Bottum near Booth and Joey goes into making cat calls and such when everyone spills they drink.

But dang the bad luck, Joey had a cool tanning business until Obama care taxes and he had to let Verne and Eldaweena go, and that's all Elda ever knew was the tanning business. I tried to get her a gig with the cat woman bit also but she wouldn't fit in the suite.

The Obamacare charge to estates is for any use of Medicaid, including nursing home care. It has nothing to do with the old death tax.You undoubtably know that but you prefer lying.
