No, there is no free lunch. In US you'll spend that $11 500 each year on health care.

I do believe that the US could go more the route of countries like Denmark, but not without much stricter immigration policies...you can't have a never ending influx of unskilled needy people in a system like that. This is something that most bleeding heart liberals can't grasp, they want their Democratic Socialism and 15 million illegal Central Amerians as well.

They're finding that Danish work ethic has been diminishing with more folks calling in sick on Fridays, Mondays......a clear sign of lengthening weekends. More sick leave. The country is small, homogenous. Not much of a defense budget. Our country spends billions to serve as the defense of all these nations.......

according to that piece, Average income is $46000, and then the government takes almost half of that in taxes.

I could not live on <$27000 after taxes.

In the US, if you had $46000, you would pay an effective ~16% tax.

No thanks. I'll decide what to do with the 25% tax difference.
That 25%, or $11500, will go into my pocket, not the government's.

I'd rather save the $11500 each year, build my own rainy day or vacation fund, and not rely on government assistance.

too many sheep in america that don't question authority figures enough.
ActuLly if your gross is $ t46,000 and you are single with no deductions, your effective federal tax rate is less than 10%.

They are also ranked as the #1 happiest nation on earth, have much lower poverty, higher wages, less gun deaths, and best of all.....THE #1 NATION IN THE WORLD TO DO BUSINESS!!!

I am consistently appalled that so many conservatives in this nation continue to believe that there's not a single example in the world where Democratic Socialism has worked. They simply refuse to acknowledge it. Do you REALLY think a Denmark person would actually WANT to move to America?!

I don't want to hear, "but but....socialism has never worked anywhere in the world," ever again. It's right wing propaganda BALONEY.
and meanwhile the utopia of denmark:

....has more crime than the usa.... twice the amount of the USA ((91.34 per 1000 denmark...compared to 41.29 per 1000 USA
....has a MUCH higher suidice rate than the USA
....has more stolen cars than the USA
....has more robbery victems, than the USA
....has more instance of fraud, than the USa

....and has more drug OFFENCES, than the USA...nearly twice the amount ((1,053 per 100,000 people Denmark......560.1 per 100,000 people the USA))

overall poverty rate usa 14.0
overall poverty rate denmark 13.9
statisticly equal with the usa..... BUT....17.3% of all Danish children, almost 200,000 in total, were touched by poverty .....that's higher than the USA

denmark debt to gdp percentage--- 180% ...... 80% more than the usa

See what that picture shows? Denmark is for Danes and their heirs. That is a LOT of white people, I'm glad all these white worshipping folks come out of the woodwork to worship the wonder of a white run society.

But, theres an unercurrent over there too...dare to hazard a guess as to what's happening?

Thought so.

How Denmark, Sweden, etc., fight inequality - regressive, not progressive taxes

Furthermore, Scandinavian and European countries allow their rich to hide income and capital gains in foreign accounts so that they're tax-free. They have no FATCA law.

The 'who's who' of European tax havens
Denmark has a progressive federal and municipal income tax system. Federal income tax ranges from $0 on incomes of $6240- 60.3 % on incomes greater than $55,000. ( converted to USD) Municipal tax rates range 20-27%, depending on where you live. The great equalizer is consumption tax, 25% VAT.

Income taxes are progressive throughout Scandinavia, just not as progressive as they are in the US. There is no equivelent of the Earned Income Tax Credit that rewards low income families with children as it does in the US, a tax advantage that's been meaningful for the past 30 years.

Someone making the equivelent of $55,000 USD in Denmark is taxed at the same rate as someone making $1 million USD.

Go ahead and move to Denmark and ride a bike everywhere because you can't afford a car no less the $10+/gal for gas. Also get used to living in very cramped quarters and having nothing as far as hobbies go because you can't afford anything.
