A jury has awarded $240,000 to two Muslim men who say they were fired from an Illinois trucking company after refusing to deliver alcohol.

A judge found that Morton-based Star Transport Inc violated the religious beliefs of Mahad Abass Mohamed and Abdikarim Hassan Bulshale. Two Muslims awarded $240,000 in US discrimination case - Al Jazeera English

That is interesting. However the media was at war with Kim Davis and she ended up in jail for a time for not doing her job, but here are 2 muslims that refuse to do their job and get awarded a big sum of money.

Drop Kim Davis from the argument, that story went way past it's expiration date. These guys should not be financially rewarded for refusing to do their job. If they couldn't perform needed duties they should have asked to be reassigned or look for a job they could do.

Well I put Kim Davis in the argument as she stated she would not perform her duties due to her religious belief. The two muslim truck drivers also stated they could not do their job due to their religious belief.

Also where do we draw the line of people refusing to do their job due to their religious beliefs? With this case of the muslim drivers it could bring more claims and it is interesting what the outcome of them will be.

Behold, the value liberals place on hurt feelings: $240,000. Or roughly 8 years worth of US median income.

This is a token gesture and means nothing- the company went out of business last year.

Per article:

"Chief US District Judge James Shadid had found in favour of the commission in March, after the company admitted liability."

As a business owner, why waste resources on such a case when you know there can be no recovery?

There is no comparison to the "Kim Whoever" case since that was a *publicly funded* job which obviously was NOT going out of business like this company was. This company had no investment in the case either way. That is the massive difference. It's like winning because the other side didn't show up.

The plaintiffs will not be collecting this money.

It is unfortunate that this is just yet another issue to divide the country on......

In trucking, this isn't an unreasonable request. Give them another load.

Star was one of the worst companies in the industry. Most trucking companies that run schools with few exceptions are a joke.

No wonder they went under.

be muslim at a trucking company and you get money for not doing your job of delivering alcohol because of your religous views.

but if you are christian, and you do not want to serve homosexual couples on their wedding day you get fined, threatened with jail, or lose your business, then that is just fine.

double standards for muslims and christians.
