Yeah, there just is something unseemly about a candidate who promises to improve the lives of citizens. Instead, there is nothing wrong with a candidate promising massive tax-cuts to attract millions of dollars of campaign contributions.
But to focus on this "free stuff" narrative, what free stuff did Obama promise? Medicare, Social Security, Medicaid, SNAP (Food Stamps), Unemployment insurance were all programs that existed far before Obama was elected. So, what free-stuff do people who present this narrative mean with regard to Obama promises?
How convenient to mention mostly stuff that Americans pay into themselves and then collect for themselves. That's not free stuff. Welfare and yes food stamps are things that the taxpayers pay for to be given to people who don't contribute anything or very little on their own.
Certain groups of people thought it was coming to them and immediately after they voted him in they were jumping for joy as the black knight was going to start taking care of them. Obviously they took him at his word. Oooops. Promises and reality usually at opposite ends of the pole. That was short of eight years ago. Before you clutch at your heart there have been white knights to couldnt produce either thats why you have to sift through whats possible and what isnt prior to voting.
