I have no idea what positions you held in the past but for a long time the complaints were that Muslims weren't doing enough to condemn the actions of extremists.
Here they do and yet you still complain. This is indeed a major step.
IMO those that would complain here are not looking for solutions but rather are upset that their hatred of those different than they are gets somewhat diluted with actions like this.
ISIS has some 30,000 "members". Iraq alone has 30 million people. The people of Iraq alone outnumber ISIS 1000:1. If Muslims actually opposed ISIS, there would be no ISIS. A handful of spokesmen putting out a press release means very little.

We are a country of 320 plus millions. We have a handful of people that are intent on harming other through things like mass shootings.
Let's see 2.1 billion muslims divided by 1,000.......barely a start, would not qualify as a dusting of snow.
At least it's a start. The issue; these are Indian Imams, and we know how divided the religion is. ISIS are Sunni, so unless this fatwa includes Sunni leaders... it really won't matter. ISIS actually views Shia as being worse than Christian and Jew infidels.

It didn't say they wouldn't denounce them. They said they wouldn't apologize for them because they have no reason to be apologizing for them.
There are so many similarities in our stupid spats in this country to take up a few threads.
Pat Robertson says something stupid and many call for other Christians to apologize for it. They have no reason to as they had nothing to do with it.
If Pat Robertson was wreaking havoc via terrorist attacks globally, every day, killing thousands of people every year, and claiming to represent "true Christianity" while doing so, as a Christian, I'd definitely denounce him. Heck, even though he's not doing that, I'll denounce him.
