Israel isn't really a Western country. It's like Japan or South Korea--has adapted some of the positives of Western life, but culturally isn't the same. Otherwise, I agree with what you say.
Israel is quite a bit more Western than Japan or South Korea. The Ashkenazi Jews are entirely Western and at least a good percentage of the Sephardic Jews are westernized as well. For all intents and purposes Israel is a Western state.
You need to get educated, Burdell. The sanctions were working, and both America and Israel were using the Student virus (and assassinations) to keep Iran's nuclear program under control. Obama only made up this fake deal for his legacy so that he can look like a good, historic president, when in fact, he's been a terrible one.
I couldn't rep you a second time, but great post. The sanctions would have worked, on steroids, with $40 and below oil since their budgeting would have been blown to high heaven.

I understand the centuries old ongoing conflict between Sunni and Shiite. Iran is the seat of Shiite power. Saudi Arabia is the seat of Sunni power. ISIS is a radical Sunni phenomenon. In Iraq, Iranian generals of the Qud are fighting side by side with American advisers in taking back Fallujah. Iran is aligned with Assad in Syria. We are not fighting Assad or his army. We are fighting ISIS in Syria who is an enemy of Assad. our allies in the fight are the Iraqis with Iranian backing in the south and the Kurds in the north. the Kurds are sworn enemies of the Turks which are also our allies and the Saudis who are aligned with the Sunni ISIS movement against Assad.
I understand the dynamics of the conflicts in the Middle East very well, thank you and the problems that exist there are not as simplistic as you or the rest of the low info, conservative poster tries to foist on the rest of us.

This is true, but the mindset of many of the Israelis that I know and have seen is that Israel, while it has many Western aspects, is not a Western country.
It is certainly part of the Industrialized World, which includes the West as well as countries like Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, etc. But it isn't really Western.
