Maybe they will actually address the real problem in climate change....factory farming. Factory farms produce more emissions than all forms of transportation COMBINED and then some. But our big money corporate food system with their deep pockets will make sure nobody speaks a word about that.

I know a friend who lives in China smog alerts are a weekly thing out there and it's not like a regular fog like we have out here it is something that is rather deadly. Good on them for finally recognizing the need to change. A pity this country is lagging behind so much but I'm not really surprised though what with the conspiracy theorists and big business loving boot lickers in the country who value profits over lives.

These guys have the right idea...Make clean energy as cheap, or cheaper than hydrocarbons and solve global warming without having to tax anyone....Of course the oil, gas and coal companies will not be happy...

The White House on Sunday released the details of an announcement, expected on Monday, about a plan by Bill Gates to team with 19 governments and 28 billionaires from 10 countries to create a multibillion-dollar public-private coalition to fund clean- and renewable-energy research.

Continental Europe will demand carbon emissions be reduced

America will say, "OK, but only if China and India do too"

China and India will say "OK, but you need to give us $___ trillion dollars."

America will say , "Ummm no."

Britain will guffaw and chortle

Continental Europe will say, "But monsieur, we cannot afford such sums!"

Then everyone will stare blankly at one another, drink some champagne, and then go home.

Self endorsement acknowledging how important they are, preening for the cameras, pretending to be concerned wondering how much money they can bilk from the idiot masses to continue in a failed science and then jet off to the Caribbean in their private jets.

In the case of the idiot infesting the WH, he will go to Florida for several rounds of golf.

300,000 tons of CO2 which is just a little less than the entire country of France for a whole year.
