Carter Banned Iranians from Coming to US During Hostage Crisis | Frontpage Mag

I completely forgot about this. So it's ok for Carter to ban them and they weren't trying to kill us on our own soil. Yet, our Muslim Terrorist Loving Chief won't ban them?

I'm waiting for them to blow up a school, sporting event or just open up in small town America. Sure, let's cry ethical and moral values while we let the fox in the henhouse. The hypocrisy is mind blowing. Do what Carter did he was a liberal and was the worst President in history until Obumbler came along.

I will however give Carter much credit for his housing initiatives for the poor. Well done.

That was the 70s/80.

Americans hadn't yet been fully conditioned to recoil at anything that is discriminatory.

.....No offense, but Iran is a country and Islam is a religion. Most muslims coming here are not even middle eastern. I don't think Carter banded a whole religion.

Banded? You mean put a steel band around their leg, like a bird, for identification? http://www.wbu.com/chipperwoods/photos/bandproc.htm

Didn't many countries ban air traffic from west Africa countries that had Ebola outbreaks? If terrorism and Isis is a crisis right now, maybe a temporary ban should be considered. An open door policy like we've had and that Obama wants to expand is just as radical, and makes less sense.

So America's "exceptionalism" is to be judged by the actions of other nations?

We, the U.S. did not ban travel from countries where Ebola had broken out.

Define temporary? In the case of Ebola we could objectively determine when the health risks became negligible, by what objective criteria would we use that would indicate that the threat of terrorism by foreign Muslims was at a end?

And suppose that we do take the unprecedented action to ban Muslims from traveling to the U.S. and the present pattern of terrorist acts being committed here and in Europe by Muslims who are nationalized or native born citizens? What will be the next "ban" that we should seriously consider?

Default I hate to burst your bleeding heart liberal bubble, but:

obuma should have the balls that the 2nd worst president (obuma is the worst) had in 1980. I'm not necessarily a Trump supporter, but he is saying exactly what needs to be done:

Not only did Jimmy Carter suspend Iranian Muslim immigration after the American Embassy hostages were taken: Shocking List: 11 Public Figures Who Agree With Trump's Muslim Ban Plan

He deported Iranian students

Carter didn't ban all Iranians from entering the USA. He allowed for Anti-shia and anti-regime Iranians to enter (amongst other stipulations like health concerns). What trump is calling for is a ban on the religion no matter where they are from. His ego won't allow him to say he was wrong, but his "clarification" is now that this on a temporary basis and further refinement of it (backtracking for anyone else) will be forth coming. As usual, he just opens his mouth and says something stupid - he denies it's stupid, then he denies he meant it that way and that the media (those scum) is just distorting what he said. then he commences to say what he "really" meant.
