The people arguing in favor of targeting Sikhs - and using security as their excuse - must be really dense.
First, Sikhs have no history of committing terror in the United States. Second, those that do commit terror make every effort to blend in. Did Mohammad Atta, the operational leader of the 09/11 plot, run around in a turban? No. Hint for the 'geniuses' - that's what people operating covertly do. For example, Nazi spies in Britain during World War II didn't go around goose-stepping, did they? American special forces operating at large in the Middle East lose their normal attire and their standard uniform, grow their hair and beards out, and do everything they can to be non-conspicuous.
So harassing Sikhs who are wearing traditional Sikh dress is not only ineffective, it actually diverts limited security resources down a dead-end and away from where they're needed.
Or is that what you want? Are you actually so petty that you're willing to see security compromised - so long as brown-skinned people of a religion you don't understand are being hassled?
I agree totally with you except for one statement. See Air India 182.
Yeah, but you're dealing with people who are scared of their own shadow.
In the meantime, the odds are 100x higher of being killed in a fight over a parking spot before you even get inside the stadium, or a "you're wearing the wrong jersey" fight with drunken fellow citizens at the game.
As a Chargers fan, it is of no surprise to me at all that they were at a game in San Diego and not Chargers fans.
What does that mean? I would wear my Eagles no matter what stadium I was in. They have junkets for fans to go to away games as a group, no one hides the fact they are rooting for the home team. If you're in a group, it's fun. What were you implying by that?
Can ya wear a giant foam hat or a block of cheese on yer head?
Seems like a few employees need some further training.
I would presume that all headgear, be it hats, foam cheese, turbans, etc., must be removed for inspection. While Sikhs are not part of the terror threat, they should be forced to follow the rules like everyone else.
So I see no problem whatsoever with requiring them or anyone else to follow the rules for entry into a large event.

They need some effective rules then.
I could hide a heckuva lot more "stuff" inside a sweatsuit than I could inside a turban.

I think he/she is just implying that the Chargers are sucking so bad that no actual Chargers fans are going to the games.
Not PC of course but the turbans stick out, therefore they were probably looked at more than someone with a cheese hat.
But, they aren't Muslim.
The problem is that Osama Bin Laden wore a Turban, 911 some wore Turbans. They weren't the same kind but to the naked eye you can't tell. So, now people are concerned about them.
But, unlike Muslims, there religion is open for all and anyone. It's peaceful. They don't believe in hostages, rape, oppression of women, it's relatively peaceful. Men and women are treated equally. Their religion requires they don't cut there hair. That's the reason for a Turban, it's fashionable cover. They only condone fighting when the Muslims try to take them out. So, I'm good with them. I have known a few and they are really friendly. They don't commit acts of terror religiously. They might have a crazy one once in a while just like Christians but it's not a big deal.
Of course, this is what I know about them. And yes, they run a lot of Circle K's, Chevron Markets, etc.
How about we say some Muslims so as not incriminate over a billion people?
How about we learn the difference between "there" and "their" so as not look even more ignorant?
