I will start taking responsibility for Hollywood, when conservative-leaning people start taking responsibility for the banking industry and its housing bubble/bailouts, the KKK, the Kochs, anything done by the oil industry or coal industry..
Which, I'm sure, will be any day now.
If you are looking for the banking industry looking in this current Administration would be a fruitful place to start.
Absolutely. They can flood it with mass immigration of 'diversity' from all over the world and they can work hard to support them. And they can make everyone 'equal' in their liberal utopia. Oh that's right we already know how that would turn out, like some poor, violent latin American socialist country.
I find it sad that Sylvester Stallone gets nominated but Michael B Jordan or Ryan Coogler (director) didn't. (Creed movie)
Fixed. It isn't funny, it is sad that the white supporting character in a film with a black lead and and black director that put together an amazing film.

.... so if a movie has a nominee in one category, you're saying it should have a nominee in all categories? Maybe there's just more talent at the top than at the supporting level.
Next year they should simply have an all "poc" Oscars. Then the blatantly culturally appropriated "Chiraq" and one of ten Madea movies to be released can sweep every category.

Why would a Madea movie get nominated? You think that's a quality film? That'd be like nominating "Dude, Where's My Car?". Seriously.
Speaking as a black man, my first response to this criticism is: "Were there any truly Oscar-worthy performances this year by any black actors?" Or at least, "are there any black actors whose Oscar-worthy performances in past years who should be given one of the Academy's famous 'belated' awards this year?"
For instance, when Denzel Washington won an Oscar for his relatively mundane "Training Day" performance, it was pretty well realized (at least among blacks) that was really a belated award for the times he was overlooked for true Oscar-worthy performances (sooner or later the same will happen with DiCaprio).
I don't watch enough movies to be able to assert there were any black Oscar-worthy performances this year...I can't think of any offhand.
If there is a racial problem in this regard, it is probably not in Oscar nomination but in casting. Were any black actors cast into the meaty roles in major motion pictures that would provide serious opportunity for Oscar nominations?
