Personally, I think the 70% number looks low. How can anyone believe that the Earth's climate doesn't change or isn't changing? It always has been and always will be.

More interesting is the poll question where people were asked if they agree with the overwhelming scientific consensus that human activity is the main cause of climate change. Only 27% agree with that.

I like how this poll clarified that these are two separate questions, for a change.

Poll: 70 percent believe in climate change

A new survey finds that 70 percent of Americans believe the climate is changing.

The poll from Monmouth University, released Tuesday, found a stark partisan divide on most issues surrounding climate change, including whether it is happening, how serious it is and what should be done about it. The research, conducted mostly before nearly 200 nations voted last month in Paris on an international climate accord, found that Democrats (63 percent) are much more likely than Republicans (18 percent) to see climate as a very serious issue.

But the support is complicated. Pollsters found that only 27 percent of respondents agree with the overwhelming scientific consensus that human activity is the main cause of climate change.
The Earth's climate has been changing since the Earth was first formed, and will continue to change until it is ultimately destroyed.

The only people who even come close to denying that the Earth's climate is naturally in a state of constant change are the AGW alarmists, who appear to believe that a static climate is somehow normal, achievable and sustainable.

It isn’t.

70% or Americans? That sounds about right to me.

Well, yeah...there's five counter-claims to anthropocentric climate change theory:
  1. Deny that any climate change happens.
  2. Admit that climate change does exist, but deny that humans have any role in causing it.
  3. Admit that climate change exists, that humans have caused it, but claim that it's actually beneficial, or at least not that harmful.
  4. Admit that climate change exists, that humans have caused it, and that it's harmful, but claim that there's nothing that anyone could have ever done about it.
  5. Admit that climate change exists, that it's harmful, that humans have caused it, and that humans could have fixed it, but now it's too late.

Looks like the poll has simply matched numbers to the above five beliefs.

I think it's probably higher. Clearly the climate has changed.

The earth is 4.5 billion years old.

Over 99% of all species that have ever lived have gone extinct.

In the words of the great George Carlin: "Pack your s*** folks. We're going away."

Who the hell does not believe that the world's climate doesn't change over the millions of years?
But it is the sun stupid people, not man.

I promise you the world will outlast us all.

All the climate models are made up and exposed prior emails from climate scientists were leaked showing they were falsifying outcomes as well.
Newest news also reveals 75% of equipment used to monitor climate were improperly placed in areas where they would get wrong readings, like over cement that radiates heat back at false levels compared to natural air.

Climate politics is snake oil.

Worry about polluting ground water and the damage China causes not using filters on its industrial output.
Deal in reality because people are getting rich pushing global warming through taxes, grants and their cult operations,
.

Nothing like taking the word of a comedian over science is there?....Yes the earth is 4.5 billion years old, but for the 99% of that time was not suitable for human life....Modern humans evolved only about 200 million years ago, and our first civilization dates back only to about 5,000 years BC.

61% say that man contributes to climate change.

3. Is climate change caused more by human activity, more by natural changes in the environment, or by both equally?

8% Natural changes in the environment
34% Both equally
1% (VOL) Don’t know
22% Climate change is not happening (from Q1) [10% of Democrats, 43% of Republicans]
8% Not sure climate change happening (from Q1)

1. Do you think that the world’s climate is undergoing a change that is causing more extreme weather patterns and the rise of sea levels, or is this not happening?
70% Yes, is happening
22% No, is not happening
8% (VOL) Don’t know

The survey was specific in what it meant by climate change:

"1. Do you think that the world’s climate is undergoing a change that is causing more extreme weather patterns and the rise of sea levels, or is this not happening?"
