We know that groups like ISIS are actively seeking their version of armageddon and are deliberately trying to provoke it. They've said as much.

So - maybe? I think that not enough is yet known about the motivation here.

I'm nearly 70, and like most women, over the years, I've been groped by strange men or verbally harassed in public. A couple of times, I was seriously worried about rape, although I escaped that. None of the men were noticeably muslim, although who knows? Somehow, questions of religion or nationality were the farthest things from my mind.

I agree that misunderstanding of cultural norms may have played a part, but surely any muslim who's ever seen an american or european movie would come here knowing that things are different.

There are definitely problems all over the world.

Can you name another incident where large groups of men went out on the same night to attack women in over a dozen cities right in the public view?
