Agreed. The earmark system is blatantly abused. The favorite target is the defense budget. They do this will bills that wouldn't have a prayer of being passed otherwise.
It seems this is something that every voter in America, left and right, could get behind. The politicians in D.C....probably not so much. But kudos to her for trying.
I agree. I am absolutely in favor of such legislation. Of course, some of the dolts in Congress will probably attach riders to her bill that do just that!
And the next thing I'd like them to do is put every bill up for a vote, not just the bills that the House or Senate leadership likes.
I think I will write my congress person and let him know I support this legislation. That is one way for all us little people to get our voices heard. Beats posting about it on CD. Good thing my computer multitasks so that I can continue to post on CD while I do it!

Impossible. You have to limit the number of bills introduced (or triple Congress somehow), and how would you do that? *Someone* has to act as gatekeeper, and I much prefer that it be elected representatives rather than an administrative functionary.
