I'm not glad he's dead, but I am glad that he is no longer a United States Supreme Court Justice. How he left the high court really doesn't matter to me.
Now the Republicans in Congress will have a choice:
*Manifest a rare display of responsibility and allow a vote on whoever President Obama nominates, or
*Pay the price with the majority of the electorate, who is uninterested in their sort of serial obstructionism
PS:
He died in Texas while on a hunting trip? Does Dick Cheney have an alibi? Just sayin'...

As a legal professional who went to Law School fairly recently I think Scalia will be missed. While his views and strict textualism are questionable and usually disliked by legal scholars, the man had a sharp wit and consistent convictions. Of any of the Comservative justices on SCOTUS (Thomas, Alito, Roberts) none were quite as productive as Scalia.
I always enjoyed reading his sharp language and his opinions were usually at least fun to read unlike the other Conservatives namely Alito and Thomas.
oh you bet he will.. just so he can wine non stop from now till election days about how evil Republicans are...
True. If he nominates someone not considered a raving liberal, it would allow him to keep the issue of the Supreme Court at the forefront and try to paint the Republicans as obstructionist extremists.
Thankfully, Republicans can hold off Obama's nominees.
That's the battle now. Stall and prohibit Obama's nominees
from confirmation. Things will get uglier than ever.
Stall is going to be the key word now for Congress. The other justices are not getting any younger, either. This will also put thoughts in the minds of conservative voters previously unmotivated to vote. If this doesn't motivate, then nothing else will. Keep in mind that this year is critical.
Condolences to the Scalia family. He served us very well. A huge loss.
One less conservative on the Supreme Court - this favors leftist decisions at least until the vacancy is filled.
Very sad that the court has become just another vote for the party in power.
