Very funny. Jesus was as far from left-wing as one could get. He hung out with those people and told them about their sins and how to be free from them. When he wasn't healing them and performing miracles, he was preaching to them and telling them to take responsibility for their lives and pay their taxes. Something liberals clearly have never enjoyed doing.

The only time Jesus ever got violent was against the "moneychangers" at the temple.

Today those "moneychangers" are the 'too big to fail' banks and the Federal Reserve that promotes their theft and greed.
Yet, many "religious" right wingers seem to support Government theft and taxation when it goes to these banks in the form of bailouts and Fed stimulus programs-allowing them to grow larger and monopolize the financial industry, but oppose it when it goes to the poorest and most vulnerable Americans.

That's about as hypocritical as one can get.

If you don't believe in taxes at all you might as well not believe in America. Of course if more people truly embraced Jesus Christ we wouldn't need taxes and wouldn't need to work nearly as hard as we do.
You don't seem to realize the difference between charity and paid services.

When we pay for roads, we get roads. When we pay for schools, we get educational services. When we pay the military, we get defense.

When we pay welfare leeches, we get nothing. And no matter how much we give them, it just never seems to be enough. There are alway more people who need more money. It's just never ending.

I have no choice whether or not I support the army, even if I'm against their missions. You're telling me it's more justified to tax people for wars and support killing people (regardless of how justified it may or may not be) than it is to tax people to make sure children are fed? Do you consider the kids, elderly and disabled on welfare leeches too? Or are the businesses that want to pay their workers as little as possible the real parasites?

Seriously, far right politics put into action would at best bring back the days of poorhouses and orphanages and at worst bring back slavery.

You are barking up the wrong tree. It is nationless banks and corporations that have received TRILLIONs and TRILLIONs of our US Dollar-much of it created out of thin air by The Federal Reserve. The amount of taxes/money that it is given to the poorest and most vulnerable Americans is miniscule in comparison. This is because our political system has legalized bribery, allowing those that have the most to lobby for more and more. You seem to think that those without power are controlling things-which is quite nonsensical.

War profiteers dictate our foreign policy-wasting TRILLIONS of OUR TAX MONEY, killing thousands of American soldiers and innocent civilians overseas and keeping us at constant warfare in the Middle East. Change your priorities.

Charity isn't originated from the state. Individuals (the left hates that word) are charitable.

And Christianity teaches that we are made in the image and likeness of God, and that a free people are not slaves of hair-brained, command-economy, socialist utopias. We have a God-given liberty to buy from and to sell to whomever we wish, whenever we want.

That must make you livid.

Very true-some dark history there.

The first British slave trip to come to the Americas was named "the good ship Jesus" and Christianity was used to justify slavery and slaves were forced to convert.
