Things get complicated when you're the King and the guy holding the dagger behind his back is your brother's son-in-law, and your bro is next in line to the throne. And his son-in-law is a general who commands 3,000 troops. And is his favorite son-in-law.

On top of all of this, your kingdom is the most militarily powerful in the region, and is one of the richest countries on the planet.

If the King kills or imprisons the son-in-law, who has the money and the power to pull a coup and kill you and half of your 40 royal brothers, then, you tell me, burdell… if you were the King, what would you do walking in this pair of shoes?

Lies? Truth?
Diplomacy and war are always built on both. So is leadership of any kind. So is marriage, and a million other aspects of human life.

When a nation's business is on the line, lies come as thick and fast as truth. That includes old lies told in earlier times by old leaders. They are told to protect the nation then, and are accepted now for what they did then.

The Presidency is like being a manager of a store, you know. Everything a president does echoes on all around the world and throughout the nation for long after he's gone.

Default How US covered up Saudi role in 9/11

I suppose it's not too surprising...

How US covered up Saudi role in 9/11 | New York Post

Quote:
In its report on the still-censored “28 pages†implicating the Saudi government in 9/11, “60 Minutes†last weekend said the Saudi role in the attacks has been “soft-pedaled†to protect America’s delicate alliance with the oil-rich kingdom.

That’s quite an understatement.

Actually, the kingdom’s involvement was deliberately covered up at the highest levels of our government. And the coverup goes beyond locking up 28 pages of the Saudi report in a vault in the US Capitol basement. Investigations were throttled. Co-conspirators were let off the hook.

I am not a conspiracy theorist and I do not believe 9/11 was an "inside job." The evidence supports the conventional view of the Al Qaeda and Osama bin Laden involvement. There seems to be a Saudi connection, though, and we haven't heard the full story yet.
