so who's right?

do we blame all Muslims for the actions of some? or do we blame all gun owners for the actions of some?

here's a hint, they're BOTH wrong.

evil will always find a way to kill.

This happened under Obama's watch.

The killer possessed a license to carry, he possessed a security clearance. He was in the security field. At the minimum the FBI should have yanked his security clearance having been under their radar several times.

agreed. you no longer have rights when you've been flagged and investigated that many times.

The shooter was an American citizen. Immigration doesn't matter in this situation.

IMO there should be studies conducted and sensible gun laws put into place and a ban on specific types of weapons such as the AK-47.

Banning specific immigrant groups will not stop mass shooters.

People keep talking about the FBI checks and not realizing that people who don't have a criminal background and nothing else suspicious on their record cannot arbitrarily have their security clearance removed or put on a list of people who cannot buy weapons.

That is why a review of reforms needs to be put into place. That should be at the top of the list - anyone who has been interviewed of being a suspected terrorist with a heavy amount of evidence or a terroristic sympathizer should be banned from purchasing guns period. They should also have any security clearance removed.

IMO this is the main thing that could have saved lives in Orlando, if the FBI was able to do more than just put someone on a "list" many of these people may still be alive.

do you know a single thing about guns or gun laws? your post indicates that no is the answer.

here's a hint - there are THOUSANDS of gun laws already. AK47's are already illegal. I really wish you people would learn our current laws before commenting.

We can't take away rights of an American citizen for being on a list, but I think there's something we can do. If you're on a list AND you travel to a location like Saudi Arabia (in this case), or the Muslim area of Chechnya (in the Boston bombing case), that shows you've taken an action toward terrorism. The FBI removed him from the list because speaking about something isn't a crime. If you speak about supporting ISIS, or another terrorist organization, then follow up with action, we should be able to indict. Then it would be up to a grand jury to determine whether or not you lose your rights.
