Where do you think that our Congress wants to start making people ineligible for over time pay?
If you said 23,661 a year you are right. If the person that is salaried at that level works 50 hours a week, that works out to $9.10 an hour.

Here is an article that further documents congressional intent:

You were never under the illusion that Republicans were for working people were you?

One of the criticisms of the new directive created by the President was that it would hamper upward mobility. I personally can't think of anything that helps my upward mobility than being paid for over time.

What are your thoughts?

I think the government should stay out of people's business.

That threshold should have had an automatic increase to match inflation to begin with. Too many businesses are claiming people are managers while paying them less than a living wage in order to avoid overtime laws. This is one of those rare things where Obama is right.

Who cares, if I work overtime at my current company, I have the ability to take those hours off (during work hours) as long as it is in the same time period....

Amazing what people do not comprehend...

You make a good point. The new directive does just what you are suggesting.

Now to address those who think that the government should stay out of the market place, I remind you that a hundred years ago the robber barons wanted government involvement. It was the kind of involvement where strikers were being shot by the National Guard.

You are one person in an otherwise greedy world. You are by far the exception rather than the rule.
