These are isolated incidences of crime. It not comparable to the Darfur tragedy, or the fact that in some African nations the HIV/AIDs rate is up to 25%. Now, can you with a straight face tell me that Sudan, Swaziland, or Tanzania and the US are comparable in that sense?

I'm not sure that a COMPLETE genocide ever took place anywhere in history--(I could be wrong). Genocide is defined as the killing or eradicaton of an entire ethnic group. Hitler tried it with the Jews. Pol Pot tried it in Cambodia. The Americans tried it the native Indians, and it's being tried now in Sudan.

But there is NO genocide going on in America today, or anything even remotely close to it; and to say so, is an insult to REAL victims of genocide. America has a crime problem, and a disturbingly violent culture. It does NOT have anything that could be called a "genocide"....

Default Why does the media like to portray africa negatively?

Because it's an absolute gold mine of horrific example after example. Between the tribal slaughters of hundreds
of thousands, massive starvation when farms and aid were/are plentiful, when oil wealth does nothing to change the crap-hole living conditions due to corruption, we need an active press to report these things.

Granted, however, we're still in Africa taking what we want.
The US is setting up permanent bases in Africa.
The oil companies are stealing oil with the assistance of corrupt politicians.
If the media makes Africa look backward and stupid, it's easier to justify enforcing our policies on them.

How is it always our fault. Should we set up bases in Africa and exploit the people? no. But I doubt even if we weren't there it be the land of milk and honey.

It's not our call.
It's not our continent.
It's not our place to be the benevolent dictator to other parts of the world.
Take care of the problems in the US first.
Who's paying for these bases? Us, the taxpayers.

No good food make black man hungry.
Black man starve.
White man in America take pity on starving black man and send tax dollars to feed starving blackman.

The point is, don't kill your farmers stupid.
This is a stupid and ignorant post, and simply shows that the poster has no knowledge whatsoever of African history or of African culture. The multitude of problems facing Africa today are a DIRECT result of European colonization, Europe did not develop Africa at all instead it underdeveloped it. This is not a controversial statement it has been studied and researched by MANY scholars who study Africa. Obviously the above poster isn't one of them, and should either do some research about Africa or cease giving uninformed opinions about it. The level of ignorance truly is embarrassing.

I agree with you there 100%. But we can't take all the blame for the poverty in Africa.
