They're not shooting at you . . . until they are. So they go from "good guy with a gun" to "bad guy with a gun" right at that moment? Doesn't give you a lot of time to deal with that new piece of information.

Reason: deleted orphaned quote
Twenty to 30 of the marchers showed up with AR-15s and other types of military-style rifles and wore them openly, with the straps slung across their shoulders and backs.
And how could one determine during a shooting, who is who?
Quote:
“They were wearing gas masks,” Mr. Brown said. “They were wearing bulletproof vests and camo fatigues, for effect, for whatever reason.”
When the shooting started, “they began to run,” he said. And because they ran in the middle of the shooting, he said, the police on the scene viewed them as suspects. “Someone is shooting at you from a perched position, and people are running with AR-15s and camo gear and gas masks and bulletproof vests, they are suspects, until we eliminate that.”
You are missing the point and the time. We are referring to identifying the "bad guy" during the chaos of a during a shooting, not a facebook photo days later.
The photo was circulated during the shooting but it turned out to be just a law abiding open carry black man....open carry does not apply to minorities:
One of the great ironies here is many states originally banned open carry because Black Panthers walked around with them to "cop watch"
