The violence and crime they bring is caused by the prohibition, not the drugs themselves.

That ties in with why this crackdown on crime isn't as simple as that. The problem is that the government is corrupt. Period.

This means that the more power they have, the more it is abused. Drug laws are routinely abused.

Normally I would encourage you to research threads dealing with drug decriminalization, and the success other countries have had, but I have discovered that once the koolaid has been drunk, there is no way to get a prohibitionist to open their eyes.

My brother had an interesting comment on lawlessness. He referred to a would be thief and criminals in general as "Having lost their fear of humans."

That's their parents problem.

So is alcohol! Alcohol literally kills 80k-90k people a year not including killed fueled by alcohol.
