If that was a "strategy" she should have cut a deal. Or, if she's like I believe, she didn't accept that she violated any laws and what she did was business as usual.
Legal analysts were a little dumbfounded but as one suggested perhaps they simply had no other defense other than putting her on the stand denying what others testified to. She has argued through the media she was victim of the "old boys network" and perhaps they were hoping for sympathy from a juror or two.
