New Mexico town has 18ft high STEEL WALL erected to keep illegal immigrants out | Daily Mail Online

Too bad it will he defeated with a simple 20-25ft ladder and some rope, or a tunnel.

Ever heard of tunnel sensors? The double wall with a patrol road in between them is not that easy to get over and is a huge deterrant. Here are some links for you.

Illegal Immigration a $113 Billion a Year Drain on U.S. Taxpayers
We have always placed a price on national security. I always hear complaints about how there's not enough funding for the police here. Nobody is giving anybody a blank check.

I actually had not until I just googled it. Found an article for others who are interested: Israel’s New Anti-Tunnel Technology Ready to Go |

Wall or no wall, the U.S. needs to invest in this technology and make it more effective. A wall alone won't be the solution. Invest in guards and technology.

What would be the basis for seizing the private assets of Mexican nationals & diverting them to our purposes?
It is about who will foot the bill for this huge project. His idea is that others should pay for what America traditionally paid so far. For example, the US presence in the Far East should be financed by Japan, S. Korea, Taiwan and the Phillipines. Same in Europe. He (Trump) will convince even countries like Italy and Greece to pay a few billions.
Mexico on the other hand, benefits from the illegal aliens sending money back home. Some claim that about 1/4 of the Mexican budget is based on that. If so, (Donald claims) Mexico should pay for the wall. (If I build it, it will cost $20B but if another POTUS is in charge, it will cost American taxpayer $200B !).
Then, journalists asked what if Mexico refuses to pay? He answered that the flow of money from US will stop by seizing prove assets of individuals. (He didn't specify if all the money, or just a kind of tax)...
Other Trump "original ideas" include reopening all international trade agreements and renegotiating better terms for US (especially with China). Amazingly, his supporters belive these suggestions are realistic....

Personally I don't believe we need a wall. We need laws with teeth. Hammer the employers of illegals. Make them afraid to hire illegals.
Go after the assets of the illegals.
Go after the land lords who knowingly rent to illegals.
Make E-Verify the law of the land. Do these things and force illegals to self deport.
Make the penalty so harsh that very few would even consider breaking it. Include hammering those greedy homeowners who troll parking lots looking for cheap labor.
No E-verify done and you have illegals working for you? $50,000 dollar fine per illegal.

Good Post and what you are really speaking towards is a modified version of the Rico Act. this would fund the wall and the cost of deportation.

One other point. Subtract aid dollars to those countries that enjoy the generosity of the American Tax Payer.

With oil being down the number one source to Mexico income wise is all the illegals or residents wiring money back to Mexico. Easy to tap into actually.
And then they tax all goods going into the United States at 20%. See how it can work both ways?

Sorry, but the border patrol data will tell you that illegal crossings have been drastically reduced wherever an actual wall has been erected. If you're not aware of this fact, just tell me you are ignorant of it, and I'll post a link. Then you can say, "Well, that is something I didn't know."
