hey look another stupid argument from the Prog-left.

see here is the thing, conservatives are not liberatarians. conservatives are not anarchists. (well most aren't, I spent a few of my formative years as an anarchist but I almost outgrew it)

Conservatives believe that government is necessary and there are roles for government. those are limited and should not permeate every aspect of society but where there is real need for government we like it.

Police and Firemen are wonderful people. Teachers are wonderful people we like the fact that they get money and work for us as government servants.

we like to flush our toilets and when we live in cities, know that waste goes rushing along to a treatement plant and doesn't cause cholera. We appreciate the people that make that happen. its wonderful

we like nice roads and a strong military that keep us safe.

the suggestion that these people are somehow proof that government programs are wonderful and that these people should be PROGS is just a dumb argument.

I mean monumentally dumb.
like if you argument were a mountain it would be Everest.

Why am I subsidizing a 70k a year custodian and a 200k a year cop? Ohhhh socialism is good when you are getting paid from it. But it's bad when granny needs healthcare... Wow

What percentage of conservatives and what percentage of Republicans are against fire departments, police departments and schools?

My next door neighbor got paid from the stimulus package that provided weatherization for low income seniors. He bitched about the stimulus every day. He never made the connection.

your average retiree has something like six times the net worth of your average 20 something just starting out.
Talk to your grandparents.

My household of two old poops certainly do not want anybody's grandkids paying our Medicare and SS.

We lived frugally and saved money to pay for our kids college and house down payments. They paid off their houses in 15 years. No debt in these households.

We and our employers paid into SS at the top rate for 60 years. I would be happy to have all that money plus the interest earned to manage myself.

In fac,t DH still works part time and pays payroll taxes. And we pay 38% income tax on our SS "benefit". Plus, when you get really old, savings need to be in stable not so risky investments.

That low interest on your mortgage and car note are being subsidized by old people.

And when that retiree was a 20-something, they had 6 times less the net worth of the average retiree then.

And you don't have to subsidize anyone. Just pay back the money they've put into it, with interest, and I bet they'd call it square.

YOU PROGS are the ones that take vast sums from hard working people to spend as you see fit.
that's your issue not mine.

I know generations of teachers , admins, custodians and school workers all in the same family . They are doing great . Huge pensions, healthcare for life, social security legacy jobs for their kids. Socialism is working great for them. They just happen to be staunch republicans who despise socialism. How does that work???
