I mean this from the bottom of my heart........it is painful to watch that woman try to answer any of the questions any Senator has put to her. I almost feel sorry for her. She is so out of her league and does not even have a grasp of the basic issues relating to running such a huge undertaking as the education dept.

Of all the picks Trump has made, I think this one is the weakest of them all. Seems like a nice lady, but WOW, she is so in over her head. It would be like if you put me in the drivers' seat of a 747 and said to fly it.

I don't see how she can possibly be confirmed. I realize Trump had to pay her back for all her families contributions, but this one was a big mistake.

Choosing her is quite telling of how Republicans value education.

(hint: they don't unless it is their own children)
Its Telling how the failure of the Obama Administration has lead down this path. The Interview was more about Warrens personal issues with Trump.

Liberals have destroyed education for years!

Keep chasing those rainbows.
And a number of conservatives only see society through a dark dystopian lens, so much so that they can't concentrate on anything other than than terrorism and inner-city poverty.

Keep them guns loaded, they're coming after you

Democrats can scream and yell all they want. The rule is 51 votes and it looks like that is in the bag. Devos will be confirmed, the teachers unions will become hysterical and little Johnny will eventually be able to attend any school he wants instead of the one specified by zip code.

The water is draining and a lot of the Old Guard is circling the drain.
Listen to them scream.
Pocahontas has released 3 tweets in the past few hours predicting doom if Trump becomes president! - That's hysterical.

Public education has been dismal for decades. You can see the results of on this forum. Half the posts here reflect a disregard for the truth and lack of understanding on how to form any sort of reasonable argument.

Sadly, this is not a new phenomena.

1983 - A Nation at Risk was put out by President Reagan’s National Commission on Excellence in Education and described how poorly schools were performing and had been for years.

Republicans and Democrats, liberals and conservatives have come and gone and various strategies been implemented and done away with and we are still not doing a decent job of preparing our nation's children to meet the challenges ahead.

Blaming it on Obama or the liberals is ridiculous nonsense.

Equally ridiculous is presenting this clueless woman to head up our nation's Dept. of Education.

When I was in school in MA (a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away..) every principal had been a teacher AFAIK. So, out of curiosity, I just looked up the requirements for a school principal in different states. DeVos is going to be heading the Department of Education and she doesn't have half of the experience or qualifications to be a school principal.

Our nation cannot afford so many poorly educated citizens. Despite the deep desire to turn back the hands of time, the days of getting a decent job out of high school and sticking with it for forty-five years are gone.

Predictions are that most people will need to change careers several times and up grade their education and skills as they go along.

Thomas Friedman explains what the future will likely hold in Thank You for Being Late: An Optimist's Guide to Thriving in the Age of Accelerations

Our education system is in no way prepared for this future and this clueless woman is in no way prepared to lead us there.

Next.

Frankly, if it doesn't show up on SNL, they are not paying attention.
