Many on the left, including Trudeau the Smarter and Trudeau the Big Hair romanticize rebels. They do not understand that these people are not Canada's friends, the West's friends or anyone's friends but themselves. Castro was a Latin American style caudillo with left-wing flavoring. It was an ingenious witches brew of those prior perversions of political life. Ordinary caudillos could and usually were bumped off by other ambitious and greedy generals and politicians. Castro was able to call on his patron saint, the Soviet Union for protection. THat is how he survived 57 years as ruler.

American projection of power is a fact. Just because a leader is a monster and dictator does not justify the execution of a foreign head of state...it is like the mafia rule....you do not kill their boss or mess with their children....oppps...! Okay so I might be wrong. Turning a blind eye to a murder is not murder...or is it...?
Saddam was executed by the people of Iraq.

So far nothing.

The US (and allies) ejected Saddam, Mubarak, Gaddafi, only to make the Middle East much worse than before. Now they are trying to do the same to al-Assad.

El Maximo.

Another goon in uniform running a Latin American dictatorship.

Yea we'll miss him.

Young Trudeau always loved theatre. He had this fantasy of a figure of a man standing at the podium being a great "orator"...A spokesman that history would say was a great statesman making great and grand statements. This is what is in the mind set of the young naïve and dreamy PM.

Hilary attempted to be a great orator by yelling...Obama had smooth musical tones that were spell binding...Trudeau thinks he can hypnotize you with his puppy dog eyes...well as far as being a great orator...he is a failure no matter how much he practice he gets in the mirror. The guy looks great by his speech is that of a bad and failed actor.

Oh comeon. You are brighter than that. Ole Castro got out there and actually led the defense at the Bay of Pigs. And drove the American surrogates right into the sea.

Will never understand why we let that happen. But we did. In my mind it should have been crystal clear that Castro was a dead man when the first guy hit the beach at the Bay of Pigs. But apparently we were not up to being the big bully that we claimed to be.

Basically the US is actually a lousy aggressor. Must be something in the water. When cornered we are fearsome. But not until cornered.

And yes he was a caudillo. And he believed himself a modern don Quixote. He admitted to tilting wind mills.

The Soviet Union stuff is pure nonsense. He needed them badly economically and almost crashed when the Soviet Union dissolved. But he pulled through all that.

On the bottom line anyone as good at treeing the US as Castro was a great man. Our sworn and bitter enemy..but great none the less.

RIP and good riddance.

Here you go:

Inside Fidel Castro’s life of luxury and ladies while country starved | New York Post

Just like any other dictator/communist regime leader, the ultimate hypocrite, lives a life of luxury and excess and immorality, while their own people suffer.

Now, anyone out there still 'admire' this guy?

There was a Chinese song praising Cuba and Castro, written in 1962.

The title is "Children of Havana"
The last sentence of the lyric is "If American thugs come again, I will eliminate them..."

None of that has anything to do with Castro being a POS or the allegations that US kills out heads of state.
