A guy that hasn't been in power in years. He looked like a mummy and could barely speak or move. His brother has been in power for years.
These idiots celebrating are so stupid. They wanted the US to do the job they couldn't do themselves. If they didn't want the Castros they should have stayed in cuba and fight for their country instead of coming to the US and applying for government benefits.

I'm certain the families of the 18,000 people that Fidel killed by firing squad would rather have Batista. At a minimum, they ate better.
You appear to be very fond of communism. Why don't you travel to Cuba and try to live like a regular Cuban citizen. Maybe you can teach English.

I am not fond of Communism at all. I'm just not obsessed with it. I have thought about visiting Cuba on holiday. But, we ended up going to Las Vegas a dozen times instead. What can ya do?...... But, I would like to go and see Havana for sure. It looks a very interesting place.
I have visited a few former Communist countries like Bulgaria for instance. I didn't see much there to recommend it.

There is some amazingly funny stuff coming out in this thread. The man cared nothing about his people, he locked up dissidents, fathered over 1000 children, kept his people in abject poverty, but the socialists think he was well intentioned. Cuba is their vision for world.
I think the man deserves respect. Sure he was an enemy of the United States, but I always believed he was doing what he felt was right for his people. Now I guess we'll find out what his son is all about.

There's a huge difference between waging war in another country and waging war on your own people.
Do you know how to make a country where you enjoy a 100% approval rating? You imprision or kill everybody who doesn't agree with you and pump the rest full of propaganda. But sure, it's for the people right?
Batista waged war on his people using torture, imprisonment and death. Do you know why people have revolutions?
If Americans really cared about human rights, they'd be just as hostile towards Saudi Arabia.
If you want to be the "good guys" of the world, you have to be consistent. You have to stop excusing or overlooking other regimes just because they're cooperative with Corporate America's agenda.
