I support our Governor completely and applaud his action to withhold funds to sanctuary cities. If illegals are picked up for suspected criminal activity the police are currently required by law to hand these people over to ICE so they can be deported.

If city or county employees can pick and choose which laws to follow why was some marriage clerk in Kentucky arrested and jailed for not following the law and refusing to issue marriage licenses to gays?

Finn we all pay to house criminals and always have. And they are criminals and not exempt. You want to save money by not locking other types of criminals too. Like say rapists? or thieves?.pretty simple

I think you mean holding them in jails.

Then don't detain them.

Put them on a bus and head for the Rio Grande, put hem in a boat and shove it off.

Watching the shore to make sure they don't come back.

A LOT cheaper then detaining them in jail.

ICE detainees are NOT for people stopped for speeding tickets. They are for people already in custody for other crimes. In 2015, Texas had nearly 10,000 inmates who were illegal immigrants.

https://www.texastribune.org/2016/02...d-prison-popu/

We paid to have them in jail for non-immigration related crimes. They need to be held for ICE pickup and deported so they don't commit another crime for which we pay the costs of incarceration.

Cities like SF will release criminals who were serving time for non-immigration related crimes back on SF streets instead of holding them for ICE. That illegal thug who murdered Kate was jailed in SF multiple times and then released onto the streets even though ICE had issued a retainer.

Texas could simply pass a law that mandates any business that receives a single dollar of state funding implement E-verify.

Yes, we house criminals for rape etc and always will, but if the only infraction keeping them from being released is immigration, then it will become an additional expense to house them until the Feds stop by. If you are arrested for DUI, they'll set a court date and let you go home, but if you are an illegal, then they are required to house you. Who will pay for it?

We have many, many prominent Mexican-American citizens in every level of government and business. What an incorrect statement, not to mention ignorant stereotyping of Texas citizens, in general, and Mexican-American Texas citizens, specifically.

Contrary to beliefs of prejudiced people, not all people with Mexican heritage are illegals....not even close.
