Enough trying to get crunched up dollar bills into vending machines and getting pennies back for change that end up on the ground. I'd love if they rounded to the nickel, dime, or quarter on everything.

If they got away with using pennies back 100 years ago when a loaf of bread was a nickel, I think we can handle rounding to the quarter now. Never gonna happen but I can dream.. my dream would be quarters, dollar, and 5 dollar coins... 20, 50, and 100 dollar bills, and that's it. The politicians want a cashless society though.
Agreed about pennies, nickels, and dimes... we should round to the nearest quarter.

But putting Harriet Tubman on the $20 bill was not about "OMG we need Harriet on a bill."

The $20 bill is being excessively counterfeited and needed to be changed anyway. "Leaving it the same" was never an option.

And then they said, hey, a woman has never been on a bill before. So let's put one. What is so bad about that?

Stating the obvious, it's not.

It's also ironic the same member includes a suggestion that it's "time to join America" when the cause for those who voluntarily left America continues to be rehashed, memorialized, & with the unremitting celebration of their victimhood in the present day.

FYI - white Americans were also heavily involved in the UGGR in its administration and funding and they also highly admired Harriet Tubman during her lifetime and helped to keep her from being jailed and executed.
Agree it's bizarro & delusional. Seeking to end on a positive note, the following is a partial listing of memorials or honors bestowed upon the brave & wise Ms. Tubman:

  • Harriet Tubman Home for the Aged
  • Harriet Tubman Memorial (Boston)
  • Harriet Tubman Memorial (New York City)
  • Harriet Tubman Memorial Garden
  • Harriet Tubman Park
  • Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad National Monument
  • Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad State Park
  • Harriet Tubman Park
  • Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad National Monument
  • Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad State Park
  • Statue of Harriet Tubman (Gainesville, Georgia)
  • Statue of Harriet Tubman (Little Rock, Arkansas)
