Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) had asked the FBI, NSA, Office of the Director of National Intelligence and CIA to meet with committee members on Thursday, and called their refusal "unacceptable."
The briefing was not requested to be at the director level, meaning that National Intelligence Director James Clapper, CIA Director John Brennan and their counterparts were not expected to attend.
“It is unacceptable that the Intelligence Community directors would not fulfill the House Intelligence Committee’s request to be briefed tomorrow on the cyber-attacks that occurred during the presidential campaign,” Nunes said in a statement Wednesday.
I will say this one more time -- the Washington Post published an article with an "un-named source" from the CIA claiming that Russian Government Hackers tried to tilt the election to Donald Trump - the "un-named CIA dude/dudess also claimed their was "consensus" on this charge of obstruction our elections. The FBI and the DNI later disputed this statement. The CongressCritters on the Left almost immediately called for Intelligence Briefings by the Intelligence Community to the Presidential Electors on this "election tampering to Elect Donald Trump" - Camp Clinton agreed that the Electors should be briefed. Several websites were created and Lawyers associated with the Clinton AND the Obama Administration are writing Op-Eds offering "free" Legal Service to Electors who want to Vote against their State Vote and become "faithless Electors". Actions to attempt to convince Electors to "change" their Votes from the Vote of their State ..... sounds a lot like "election tampering" to me. They certainly have the right under the Law in most States to do that ..... but this is different, It's a concerted effort that is playing out in the Media to get them to be 'faithless electors". I have NEVER seen such a thing - the Hysteria from the Leftists over Hillary Clinton being rejected by the American People is astounding.
The Washington Post AND an "un-named CIA person" dropped a bomb and now, the entire Intelligence Community is stonewalling the Intelligence Congressional Committee while they try to figure out how to do a Clean Up on Aisle 3.
Leaking to the Washington Post anonymously is OK - going on the record to Congress, not so much.
Imagine if Clinton won the electoral college by 80 votes, lost the popular election by 3 million votes and had connections to Russia, questioned why we needed NATO, insinuated that Russia could keep Crimea and remove sanctions and some foreign power exposed the RNC emails with information that Russia was responsible.

Trump has touched on turning all sorts of trade and military agreements upside down including NATO. Trump has no connection to Russia. Best lame connection is a couple of people on his staff, same as Clinton.
And one more time the popular vote does not elect the president. You understand the EC was set up to do exactly what it did this time. Not allow one large state to determine the election over all the smaller states. The smaller states get a higher proportion of electors than do bigger states. Go back and take an American history class and learn what you should already know.

Liberals are so caught up in outrage about Hillary being crushed, that they are completely overlooking what she was doing and intended for America. To me, that makes them much more Dangerous than any Russians with computers, even if they did have a hand in it. ALl one has to do is go read the leaked e-mails, and you see the depth of the deception and the crooked dealings of her Campaign, the current Administration, and the DNC. They tried to overthrow Democracy and the American voting system from within, yet they are crying about Russia stealing their crooked plans.
You do realize that the Hillary Camp, with the DNC, the Main Stream Media, and Obama, conspired to influence and steal the election, regardless of what Russia did? They worked against the other Democrat Candidates, they hired thugs to beat up folks that chose other Candidates, and bribed the Media to work against Trump. They actually tried to change the will of the people, be deceit and cheating. This was an attempted Coup, or Take Over of America, no different than than a Military Coup. The ,ain reason why they have been trying to disarm citizens for the last 8 years, and flood our Country with Illegal Aliens that would be on their side in the takeover.

Maybe they learned their lesson with Comey. As soon as Comey gave his report, and walked out the room, the media knew every word he had said. Could it be that they think publishing everything would jeopardize their investigation? That has been the reason in the past, and Comey's mistakes proved there was a good reason for it.
It's very amusing to hear from the right wing supporters that claimed the process was rigged and there was massive amounts of voter fraud. Now they dismiss a foreign power attempting to tilt the election in favor of one candidate as a left wing conspiracy.
The sentence I highlighted is a thing of beauty, the public should always be able to view stolen emails, RNC, DNC, yours, mine LOL

That seems somewhat a different topic, and written in Nov 2. Now we know for fact the Trump admin has connections to Russia through his SoS who has been involved in massive business deals with Russia, and was officially awarded a "Order of Friendship" medal by the Russian government.

Yet, it was the Democrats who actually WROTE THOSE EMAILS. And it was the head Honcho who saved them on her private, home server. I mean she should have just forwarded them direct to Putin@Russkie.gov.
I see it as Russia helping the American People see the truth and make the right choice. Liked they helped us in the Revolutionary War and Civil War.
It's clear that Russia interfered in the campaign and maybe the election.
Unless you are like Trump and believe our intelligence community, which is made up of 16 agencies and thousands of employees, is lying to bolster the campaign of Hillary Clinton.

"Officials briefed on the matter" sounds like Democrats, but we have no way of knowing since the source is anonymous.
The only things that are clear is that someone hacked Democrat's E-mails, that the Democrats involved have never disputed the authenticity of the e-mails and that the only reason the E-mails were damaging to Clinton is because it revealed that Clinton's campaign was working to steal an election that she probably would have won were it not revealed that she was trying to steal it.
What speaks volumes is Obama now saying that they KNEW Russia was hacking back in 2015 but decided to do NOTHING as Hillary was winning and he didn't want to be seen as "having his thumb on the scales".
So Mr. President, as long as YOUR candidate is winning you don't care about supposed hacking?
