I swear some people. You can give them 10 pounds of gold and they would complain because you didn't give them 50 pounds instead.

And don't forget the $700 million being spent to upgrade the plant. Now even more jobs will be created, construction, electricians, plumbers, sheetmetal , millrights, trucking companies, local restaurants, bars, etc. Also suppliers that will be building the automation , and machine tools for the new lines.
This is definitely a win.

Correct.
Yep...

The lies and misunderstandings came from Obama and Biden who needed to lie about GM and Chrysler to get reelected.

They had to lie about the ramifications of Romney's let them go bankrupt comments. We've seen so many ignorant Democrats on here post that Romney would have let those two companies go under and out of existence.

Actually said right in a debate "If you were elected, they would have went bankrupt." Uhh, liar, they did, you just prevented them going through a normal bankruptcy that GM's CEO actually said would be detrimental as you didn't force them to make any systemic changes in exchange for mountains of cash from all angles.

They had to lie and distort about how much money got thrown to GM and Chrysler and lie about the money getting paid back, etc....

This administration is very effective at lying and the media isn't helpful against their lies. Most Americans think GM didn't go through a bailout and ALL government money was paid back.

"It's a more positive manufacturing environment under a president Trump."
I'd love to know the real reason, because Ford initially said they would save 40% in manufacturing costs if they move to Mexico. Corporations make decisions based on numbers, and the numbers are not adding up.

Symbolism trumps math, apparently.

Do you think that magically all companies will move all Production back to the states in a matter of months? Hardly. But this is a step in the right direction. As companies need to expand they will be more incentivized to expand here because other companies are bringing work back. I'd bet the 700 people who get those jobs are extremely thankful to have them. And I'll bet the thousands of others who may end up down the line getting jobs at companies who bring Production here will be just as thankful.

What will happen is this: Ford will quietly replace those 700 jobs with robots within a few years. The severance packages for the 700 workers will include language that prevents them from talking to the media.

The same thing will happen at Carrier and other US firms that are "bringing jobs back."

There's a sucker in every game. Don't fall for it.

There are some jobs that robots just cannot do. It's foolish to think that a company would bring all these jobs back only to kill them again later. No PR involved. Look at this for what it is. This is an opportunity to get folks back into the workforce. Why on earth would you try to complain about that? If some other candidate had been elected that you like (since it's obvious you don't like Trump) you would likely be the one posting the article.

The only suckers in this game are those who want to sit on welfare and complain that they can't find a job once jobs begin coming back to the states.

Trump will use policy and persuasion to get companies to invest in the US. To repeat the oft repeated, he isn't even President yet and CEO's have taken notice.

This is how economies get built: one factory, one investment, one commitment at a time. There's a long way to go and it will take more than tax and regulatory reform to do it. But small results show people that it is possible.

The question is how Ford plans to off set the loss of the 40% in savings they said they would get by moving to Mexico. Its about numbers, and I'd like to see how they crunched the numbers.

Edit: Looks like the CEO said the reason was the capacity. He said they "By late fall, it was very clear we didn't need the capacity, and we made the decision." So that's why they scrapped the plan.

It makes more sense now, because giving up 40% savings just because the air seems more friendly simply did not make any sense.

It's another example of Trump taking credit for something he didn't have anything to do with.

Obama singlehandedly caused the firearm industry to boom.
That's for dang sure.
